Are Ghost Real Research Paper
What is an effortless question that causes a lot of controversy? Do ghost exist? The truth is ghost do not exist and there are multiple reasons to support this claim. The reason ghost do not exist is because equipment hasn't ever shown to actually detect ghosts, ghosts are clothed, and because of the law of conservation of energy.

Generally, on TV there are many shows where people “prove” to us that there is a presence of a ghost nearby using a “special” device. The question is how do we know that the device is accurate? In the article Are Ghost Real, it states “ghost hunters use high tech scientific equipment such as infrared cameras, and sensitive microphones. Yet none of this equipment has ever shown to actually detect ghosts.” In many cases, some shows have admitted to be creating the sounds and to be faking the whole show! The information shown to us by the so called ghost detector devices are irrelevant because other reliable people aren't there to certify that the ghost data from the devices are real.

This may sound silly, but when this statement is taken into consideration it makes perfect sense. If ghost exists, then when does the person become a ghost? “After they die,” you may say. If that is accurate, then does their clothes also die. No, that makes utterly no sense what so ever. In the article Top 10 Reasons Ghost Aren't Real it states, “In fact, most of the reports of ghosts describe them as being in “period dress.” Do ghost have their own personal closet we don't know about? Or do they only haunt in the period for which they died in? It makes no sense that the ghost have clothes on if there aren't any ghostly clothes for them to be wearing. The clothes in which they die in is physically left where it is there is no way for it to disappear or take another

Others use high-tech devices such as electromagnetic field detectors and infrared cameras, which can pick up on the ghost’s electromagnetic field. Some ghost hunters use sensitive voice recorders to capture the voice of ghosts, also called electronic voice phenomena (EVP). They usually ask a question in the middle of a room, and remain quiet for a response (Radford, 2011). More recent studies by ghost hunters reveal very disturbing recordings, such as men speaking directly to women, and the sounds of doors mysteriously slamming shut (Ghost Adventures, 2009). This shows that this can’t be coincidence, equipment malfunctions, or wind blowing…

In the story “A Ghost Story” by Mark Twain, it tells the saddening story of someone who is not accepted trying to be himself again. At first, the story uses literary elements in order to set up fear and anxiety for the character in question. Then, the main character, who remains nameless throughout the story, tries to settle down the monster, and successfully does so and starts talking to him. He tells him that he is the ghost of the Cardiff Giant, and he was trying to haunt the museum across the street because he thinks they house his former body. He is mistaken when he is informed by the main character that it is in Albany. Then, the “giant” thanks him and heads on his way. The story, in my opinion, doesn’t use literary elements to it full…

The content of the ghost story can be rationally trusted to have happened to a point, while considering possible causes for some of the events. Since the story was told from one person’s memory of the event it brings up the question of what may have been forgotten or misremembered. One thing to consider is the primary source and whether it can be trusted. The primary source was a well-educated individual with a background in teaching, which adds credibility to his words. We also have to consider the background given during the story, for one thing he was a high school student at the time. That adds the factor of time to the equation, it had been years since it happened when the story was recalled. Another factor is the primary source stated, him and friends were not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but excitement and fear.…

Adam Hochschild’s “King Leopold’s Ghost” is an account of a man’s rise of power who was very cruel and did unimaginable things. When I began reading, I wasn’t sure where the novel was going, but I soon caught on to what Hochschild was revealing. As the story begins to unfold he tells a story of King Leopold II of Belgium who managed to seize land next to the Congo River in Africa. King Leopold used political manipulation and lies to get what he wanted. King Leopold had everyone fooled that he was a humanitarian and he was in the Congo for the greater good, but that was not the case. He claimed that civilizing the Congo would keep out “Arab slave- traders” to gain support of people, but Leopold wanted something else. Leopold was very greedy, and his greed resulted in the slaying of millions of innocent people.…

There are many different types of technologies that scientists and paranormal investigators use to communicate with the paranormal. Very compelling evidence of the paranormal can be seen and heard from pictures, videos, EVPs (electronic voice phenomenons), and energy anomalies. Many ghost hunting TV shows use these types of technologies to further investigate the paranormal and provide evidence as to why they exist. One TV show in particular, Ghost Adventures, first appearing in 2007 as a documentary captured one of the most compelling pieces of paranormal evidence that has ever been found. They captured a full-body apparition walking and a brick lifting up off the ground and flying around a room. However, some people may be skeptical to what they found because it was seen on TV. Nevertheless, these and many other paranormal investigators continue to provide different types of evidence and scientific explanations as to why the paranormal is real. According to Exemplore, “Photos of ghosts have been around about as long as…

In an article, Evidence Does Not Currently Support the Existence of Ghosts by Benjamin Radford published in 2013, speaks of antagonistic credibility on the topic of the existence of ghosts. Many people believe that ghosts are just things we experience when our brain plays tricks on us as evidence demonstrates. With that in mind, ghosts, according to many movies or even ghost hunters, use tools to assist with their discovery of spirits around the world. However, to such extend, their validity can be compromise if technology, as well as personal misjudgment is actively revealed to be something else.…

For his first assignment in Thailand, Nils was assigned to a restoration project of the resort where had been ravaged by catastrophic tsunami. His time estimation for project accomplishment reported back to headquarter and soon turned out as an unachievable target when he found out that there is not enough resources to accomplish the project. The reason of this was not only because some migrant workers had fled away to not being deported, but also many Thais declined even his double wages offer mainly due to some sort of beliefs that the region and the resort are haunted by ghosts.…

There is a strong relation, throughout history, between religion as a belief, and the idea of ghosts as a part of this belief. Some ethnic groups believe in spirits and they do some religious rituals as a way of getting closer to the souls of the ancestors and satisfying them. Native American believes in reincarnation of their ancestor's souls. Also, Tlingit ethnic groups in Alaska and other ethnic groups in Australia and Africa believe in reincarnation. This relates to our subject through the idea of transportation of spirit, as invisible thing, to another creature or inanimate being and they can contact with them through some rites. The faith of hidden forces, believing in the supernatural, reincarnation, soul restriction, soul liberty or…

To understand these claims the brain is often studied. Researchers have found that our brains “have the tendency to look at patterns and see them as deliberate” (Wen). In simpler terms our brains look for patterns and associate them to causation, instead of looking for outside explanations. “’People assume that if they can't explain something in natural terms, then it must be something paranormal’” (Wen). When there is no analytical explanation for an experience tendencies fall towards paranormal. Science is on a constant continuum of improvement and new findings, maybe someday there will be an all-inclusive finding about the truth behind ghosts and other paranormal phenomena.…
