Archduke Ferdinand Research Paper
June 28th, 1914 in Sarajevo, the capital of Serbia, two bullets were fired at Archduke Franz-Ferdinand and his wife Sophie by the Serbian nationalist Gavrilo Princip. Not only Gavrilo try to assassinate Archduke but other members in the black hand as well. Their goal was to kill Archduke Franz-Ferdinand, the heir to the throne of the Austria-Hungarian Empire. When Archduke Ferdinand announced his trip to Sarajevo, Bosnian nationalist (people who wanted Bosnian to be its own country) saw the opportunity to strike at the Austrian Empire. Many people especially the secret organization “Black Hand” gave him hatred because they wanted to be their own country and not be under the rule of Austria-Hungary.
