Arancini Research Paper
Arancini is one of Italy’s iconic street foods. Rice is one of those things that is so diverse but maintains the same throughout each different region, like Asian rice bowls and Spanish Paella and Italian risotto which basically makes up the Arancini. The Arancini word basically means orange in Italian, which is what the shape of the arancinin represents. The Arancini was introduced to the Kingdom of Naples by the Aragones who simply called them rice balls. Later on the name arancini came about in Sicily where several regions claim it to be the homeland of arancini. There are two different types of Arancini one is the classic shaped like an orange and stuffed with a ragu sauce of meat, mozzarella, and peas. Then there is another version called arancini al burro and its shaped more like a pear and has prosciutto, diced mozzarella and grated cheese. It is very common to find Arancini in the streets of Italy in carts being made freshly and sold at the moment.
