Growing up my parents raised me to always be helpful. They made me do chores and eventually I started asking them what else they needed help with after I did my chores. When I was younger and I still lived in O’Fallon I cleaned the bathrooms, vacuumed the basement, cleaned my room, did my laundry, cleaned the cat's box (when we still had our cat), dusted rooms and did the dishes. Now I only have to have to clean my room, clean two bathrooms, do dishes and sometimes cook. I don’t mind cleaning so doing chores doesn’t bother me and when I had a lot of chores usually I asked if she needed them done done for her. I also offer to cook dinner now and I offer my mom to help out with my sisters because I know she’s got a lot on her plate. She works everyday and she’s a student as well. So, I do understand it can be stressful for her so I try to help as much as possible. …show more content…
I run passes and sometimes show new students around the school. Whenever the AP’s office’s runners aren’t there I run their passes for them. During the first half of fourth hour, which is my lunch hour, I student work for Mrs. Posey I usually get her mail for her and do whatever else she needs done for her students like print or copy papers. I also go to Mrs. Novaria and Mr. Thurston’s room to see if either one of them needs something done. Another way I help out at home is when my sister needs help with her homework. She takes spanish at her grade school, so I help with her projects that she has to do. I also help her with her grammar homework and whatever other homework she has that she needs help with. Alyssa doesn’t go to school yet, but when she does I’m sure I will help her with her homework too. I love helping people. I try to help out around my house and school as much as possible. I want to continue helping others out for the rest of my life. In the future I hope to help my husband, kids and eventually my

    I was babysitting with three other high schoolers and I was told that there are normally more kids that attend but the night that I was helping there was only four kids. There was a dinner before and they had spaghetti and cookies along with milk or juice. It smelt really good but I had practice before so I was not able to attend the dinner. I did end up getting a cookie and that was really good. After the dinner when the meeting started we were able to go into a teachers room and play with the toys or stay in the gym and shoot hoops or run around. The little girls decided they wanted to go into the room and I was more than happy to go in there and play games. Girls are normally more my thing. Nathan came with and helped, we played hangman on the board and “house” that didn't last very long. One of the girls wanted to play “teacher” so she gave me and Nathan a spelling test and by that time it was time to go. I had a lot of fun playing with the little girls. I took one-two hours out of my night to help the parents of the kids so they could focus on the meeting and not worry about what their kids were doing in another room.
