Applying and Understanding Leadership and Human Relations Elementary Schools
It is important to know that leadership is essential to the success of any organization, especially schools. A leader must share the schools mission and vision. As well as, the roles of others, such as: administrators and teachers, in order to work , develop and maintain positive relationships between the parents, students and community leaders by establishing respect, trust, and a safe environment for learning and understanding the of importance these relationships are beyond the classroom. I will discuss the concepts leaders deal with on a daily basis, diversity, decision making, and power. America's demographics are ever more diverse than it was years ago. In turn, schools and communities are becoming even more diverse, allowing administrators and teachers to understand the needs and cultural learning styles of their students with multicultural backgrounds. Administrators and teachers have an immeasurable responsibility inside their school and classrooms. In order to teach students, a teacher must understand where students come from and their beliefs. Administrators and teachers must be prepared to teach in all kinds of environments with different types of situations. A teacher must be aware of student’s different learning styles. They must take into account how quickly or slowly a student learns, adapting to how student’s culture affects their learning mechanism. Diversity is what makes schools unique. Schools can have the greatest amount of diversity in the world, but there is also the most distrust of other cultures and that is where the problems lie. When people learn that they have more in common than expected, they can start to connect across the barriers that were hindering them from connecting before.
