Title
An investigation of the relationship between student’s punctuality and academic performance in a form 5 year group in Queen’s Royal College.

Purpose of project
Over the years at Queen’s Royal College I have seen teachers having stern conversations with students for reaching to school late habitually. These students are faced with consequences such as: “in-house suspension” or community service for regular late coming. I myself have been a victim of these punishments. It is believed that students who are frequently late are indiscipline, and this can spill over into their study habits, hence affecting their overall performance in their internal examinations.
On the other hand, some share different views that punctuality has no effect on a student’s performance. Reason being, students do extra studies at home, hence making up for lost time at school.
In that context I would like to determine through a statistical study whether or not there is a correlation between student’s punctuality and academic performance

Procrastination is one of the biggest reasons that a student does not have good academic success. Procrastination is defined as putting a certain task off until a certain deadline arrives. Such as, if a student has to have a report or speech done by a certain date and has known for three weeks but delays in getting it done until the day before it is due. Doing this usually results in a bad grade for that paper, which could bring the student’s overall grade down to not passing. In my own experience with this problem, I have found it is easier to just do the work after you find out it is due rather than waiting until the last day. Such as, I had a buddy in high school that would hear about the assignment and would delay in getting it done till the day it was due. Yet, he would complain that he never had enough time to do the work required to complete the assignment.…

The survey on students revealed that active procrastination determined Grade Point Average to a significant level than the passive procrastination and the big five model. An interview was conducted on the students regarding the prevailing education system, academic records and scholarly conduct. It was also observed that the academic results of passive procrastinations declined among conventional students and distance learning students.
