I view nursing as a field full of opportunity to uplift, care for, and heal many people. The field naturally requires a lot of sensitivity, patience, compassion for people, and a willingness to learn, all of which are qualities that I have prioritized and have been diligently developing since my youth. My experiences as a personal assistant to my peers with disabilities at the University of Illinois and as a certified nursing assistant at Heartland Healthcare, and my interactions with seasoned nurses have exposed me to diverse communities and have helped me become more aware of the demands of this career.
