Antonio Salieri is a songwriter who composed classical music mostly in the 18th century. Antonio Salieri was born on August 18, 1750 in the little Italian town of Legnago, which was part of the Venetian territory (Hille). Salieri was always into music even at an early age. He would listen to his brother play, who was a very good violinist, and was always anxious to hear him play at mass or at town events. "Misfortune soon struck the Salieri family with Antonio’s father and mother dying between the years 1763 and 1765" (Hille). Salieri then went on to live with and learn from people like his brother at first, then Mocenigo, Pescetti, and most important Ferdinando

Gassmann took quite an interest to the young Salieri as he was very impressed with his singing and piano playing. He insisted that he take Antonio back to Vienna with him as his pupil in composition. So began Salieri’s career in Vienna where he would spend the rest of his life" (Hille par. 6).

There are theories out there on how Mozart’s death. People say that Salieri was the reason Mozart was put in so much misery, which was what the movie Amadeus was about. And there is also another theory saying that Salieri had so much jealousy that he went as far as poisoning Mozart. “And Salieri the poisoner? Sadly for those who like a good conspiracy theory, there's no evidence that he was any such thing” (Jeal par. 2). Now that we can check mark death by poison off the list we can focus on if Salieri really did torment Mozart to his death. I remember from the movie that we watched in class Amadeus, soon after Mozart’s father passed away, Salieri saw this as a perfect opportunity to get in Mozart’s mind and mess with his emotions. By dressing up as a masked man his father used to wear, Salieri would show up in front of Mozart’s doorstep in the late nights and ask him to compose a song for him after his death. So Mozart works tirelessly day and night, getting little to no sleep. With no real hard facts or evidence to support any of this, all that’s left is pure speculation and hoping that one day we will find out what really

It was in Paris that his mother died suddenly in July 1778. With no prospects of a job, Mozart returned to Salzburg in 1779 and became court organist to the Archbishop. Mozart finally achieved an unceremonious dismissal from the archiepiscopal court in 1781, and thereafter became one of the first musicians in history to embark upon a free-lance career, without benefit of church, court, or a rich patron. Mozart moved to Vienna where he lived for a time with the Webers, a family he had met in 1777. He eventually married Constanze Weber in August of 1782, against the wishes and strict orders of his father. Then for a time, things began to look bright for the young composer. All Antonio Salieri longed for was to be a brilliant musician and represent his faith through music. He devoted his life to the study of classical music. Salieri hoped and prayed that he would the best and even. Salieri became the king’s concert master so he was living the life he wanted. Then came along Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His music was the voice of God according to Salieri. Salieri deeply envied Mozart’s natural skill and talent. Salieri was upset with God because he gave his talent to this immature, juvenile, infant who devoted his life to a life of debauchery and contempt. Even through all his hate and envy for Mozart, Salieri possessed a secret admiration of Mozart. He did not miss a single one of his plays and tried his best to imitate his style of music. Very soon after, Salieri vowed revenge and planned to murder the “instrument of god”; which is Salieri’s actual plan. Salieri found Mozart’s weakness and of which inspired the foundation of his plan. He dressed as Mozart’s father, knowing that Mozart would do anything to please his recently passed father. Salieri, dressed as Amadeus’ father, asked him to compose a song for a funeral. Little did Mozart know that he was composing for his very own funeral.…
