Have you ever dealt with constant misdirection while following the instructions from a Global Positioning System (GPS)? I have! Not only is it an annoyance to get lost, but you have to patiently wait for the machine to recalculate from your error and find the alternative path to get to your destination. Now, here’s a twist. What if your constant disorientation is not your fault, but the flawed navigation system that is getting you lost over and over and over again?
The downfall to this situation is you’ve placed your blind trust in a system that appears to function properly, but has internal defects. The first obstacle occurred as Chloe realized the unreasonable transportation option she received to bus Henry to school, making her resort to driving him herself. Without question, not only did Chloe feel displaced, but she learned that the classroom environments were physically and attitudinally ill-equipped, and the structure would lead to failure, an excuse for the IEP team to reckon that inclusion for Henry was unsuccessful. Nevertheless, after a chain of trying events and relocation, Chloe still kept Henry at Bridlemile. However, during the next IEP meeting for first grade, the GPS did another RECALCULATION!
Henry placed at another school, with guarantees that proved to be false, like receiving upgrades to the facility and needing to access the second floor, which he was told he didn’t need until third grade. Furthermore, Chloe learned that the Life Skills class only covered K-2, meaning another possible reloction for third grade. Still, the new inner city Title I school was a better experience for both Chloe and Henry. He progressed academically and socially, and Chloe involved herself with the
