Antacid Persuasive Speech
The burning sensation in your chest and throat. The sour taste in your mouth. The uncomfortable regurgitations. Once these symptoms hit, you know exactly what you're in for: painful heartburn and indigestion. Generally, these bouts of discomfort are associated with running to the medicine cabinet to grab some of those chalky antacid tablets in hope of some relief. By definition, antacids are just any substance that neutralizes the acid in your stomach, thus preventing acid reflux and heartburn. But what if I told you that relief could be found in your pantry or kitchen rather than the medicine cabinet? While many individuals rely solely on over-the-counter antacid medications, a growing number of people have started to realize the convenience

You're tired; you're hungry. You've just spent a long day at College Library and you can't wait to get back to your room. Glancing outside, you remember how quickly it becomes dark. You don't think much of it, though, as you bundle up and head out into the gusty wind. Not until you spy the shadows on the sidewalk or hear the leaves rustling beside you do you wish you weren't alone. You walk quickly, trying to stop your imagination from thinking of murderers and rapists. Only when you are safely inside your room do you relax and try to stop your heart from pounding out of your chest.…

I am enraged that you slaughtered me and my friends. You cannot use your rage caused by one person, Antinous, as a reason to strike hundreds of us down. Before you killed me, I was trying to tell you that the person incited this whole mess was Antinous. After you killed him, there was no need to turn your fury on the rest of us. The worst part is how you did not even intend for us to have means to fight back, your idea was to set us up so you could slaughter and torture us and we would have no means to respond or defend ourselves. In Addition, how could you have killed every single one of us if you have no firsthand account of what happened while you were away, all you knew was what Telemachus told you. You were so naive and enraged that you…

PERSUASIVE SPEECH OUTLINE SAMPLE - MOTIVATED SEQUENCE PATTERN By Fui Oili (with modifications made by S. Pastor) TITLE: Vacation in Hawaii GENERAL PURPOSE: To persuade SPECIFIC PURPOSE (GOAL): To persuade my audience to choose to take a vacation to the neighbor islands before taking a vacation out of the state or country. GENERAL IDEA: Visitors come from all over the world to experience the beauty and adventure of Hawaii. However, many local residents haven’t had the opportunity to experience all that our islands have to offer. Instead of always travelling to the mainland for vacations, Hawaii residents should first experience the uniqueness of vacationing right here on a neighbor island. INTRODUCTION (Attention Step) I. (Attention getter): Over the PA system the agent announced the arrival of United flight 93 arriving from Los Angeles, California. I waited at the baggage claim entrance where I stood there holding my lei and sign with the names of the visitors I was to greet from their flight. As the people started to flow out of the doors I called out, “Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams”, all the while thinking about what I was going to cook for dinner and wondering what my kids were doing. When the visitors finally arrived, I was quickly brought back to my reality as I greeted each one with a lei and I said, “Aloha, welcome to Kauai.” With excited smiles on their faces they thanked me and told me how excited they were to be in Hawaii and how they couldn’t wait to start their vacation. The thing that really hit me was when they said, “You are so lucky you live in Hawaii!” Immediately I was reminded of how true that statement is. It’s ironic that it took a visitor from another part of the world to remind me that yes, Hawaii is an amazing place to explore, even for those of us who already live here. (Reveal Topic): This morning, I’d like to encourage all of you to seriously consider taking your next vacation on any of our Hawaiian islands instead of travelling out of…
