Most people want recognition and fame; people now a days only help people in need just so they can make a Facebook status about it. However anonymous extraordaries aren’t the average person. They’ll stand in support for what they believe without getting recognition, and for them that is fine because all they want is to be heard. Natalie Warne is a perfect example of an anonymous extraordarist. In her Ted Talk she described how she found a cause that she believed in and literally put everything on the line just so she could succeed at getting Oprah’s attention, and as it turned out she did not want recognition for herself but instead for her cause Invisible Children. For sure we’ve all seen the videos of famous YouTubers helping out the less fortunate, and while it is great that they are helping them out there intentions aren’t so great. Most of those so called charity videos are made so that they go viral, and so other people witness that they did something honorable. As a result the video gets viewed by many and the creator of the video receives more money from that video. For those reason they cannot be considered an anonymous extraordinary because if they were truly outstanding they would not make the video to glamourize the marvelous deed they performed. For example, Natalie Warne could have made a video demonstrating her contribution to the Invisible Children, but instead she didn’t because she was mature enough to know that you don’t have need people approval in order to stand for what she believes in. As result of her contribution she appeared on the news; however, that was not her main goal. Appearing on T.V. was a byproduct of her actions; her main goal was to gain support for the Invisible Children. Ultimately not wanting others approval is a huge factor of being considered an anonymous
