Anne Frank’s diary is a diary of a young Jewish child who was forced to hide because of the persecution happening in Europe. It showcases the perspective of a 15-year old girl during the time of World War II. Recorded in the diary are the thoughts, emotions, feelings and the events that happened in the life of a young girl subsisting under unusual and extraordinary conditions. Also, it describes Anne’s perception about herself, the people around her and life in general as well. Moreover, it illustrates the way a young girl matures in very special circumstances. Anne Frank was just an ordinary girl who grew up during extraordinary times. The diary of Anne Frank starts in 1942. At first, Anne lives in a normal kind of life. She writes about her friends, her crushes and her academic performance in school. Things started to change when their family, together with the Van Daan’s decided to move into a tiny secret space in Mr. Otto Frank’s office building - “Secret Annex”. This served as their hiding place from the Germans during the time of Holocaust. They all live in fear of being caught or found and sent to their deaths. Anne writes about her daily experiences as well as the daily rituals and activities happening.in her life.
This particular statement said by Anne Frank in her diary really caught my attention. This only shows that Anne is full of positivity. Despite of the circumstances they’re facing and the situation they’re in, she still manages to think positively towards the people who want to kill them. I admire that personality of her that even though they’re in an awful situation, she still looks on the positive side and does not focus on the bad/negative things happening around her.
