Anna Mchome Chapter 3 Summary
A theme in Chapter 3 is “Understanding Cultures and Cocultures” on page 69. I found an article about Anna Mchome a college student from Africa. A young lady who had opportunity to study and work in China. My first paragraph will introduce the idea or what it means about cultures and cocultures, my second paragraph will represent how Anna Mchome learning the importance of understanding cultures. My third paragraph would show cultures and cocultures in action, my fourth paragraph will explain being successful, and in my closing paragraph, I would discuss the cultures and cocultures on such large stage.
According to the Understanding human communication book “culture the language, values beliefs, traditions, and customs people share and learn.” Cultures is the typical of group of people well-defined by everything such as language, religion, lifestyle etc. Moreover, Different people in different country and societies have different culture but then they also have some likenesses or similarities. Cocultures are groups of people who beliefs or behaviors share values, rules, and interests beyond their national citizenship. As well, Coculture “The perception of membership in a group that is part of an encompassing culture.”

Culture is the identity of the nation, without culture the society is impossible. Language is one of the most important methods of material culture, without language there is no concept of culture. Furthermore, Different cultures have different speaking of language. Even when the language is same between the two cultures. Nevertheless, still there will be difference in speaking and one will easily difference between them. It was hard for Anna to speak or to communicate with Chinese people because many of Chinese people do not speak English. Anna decided to learning mandarin Chinese language so she can be able to communicate with
