Anita Hill, a lawyer who worked for now Judge Clarence Thomas, US Supreme Court Judge, then just a nominee. Anita Hill came forward with allegations that Thomas had sexually harassed her while they worked together at the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She is accusing him of harassing her not physically but through comments. According to the article, it appears that Anita Hill is possibly making up lies about her being sexually harassed. Anita Hill could be lying because she said after she first turned him down he just asked why she refused to go out with him. Another thing she said that is hard to believe is after all that she accused him of she took a second job under this same man. One more thing that does not go is that she said she finally went out with him after she found another job; job or no job she should not be going nowhere with a person who has harassed her sexually.…
Many women began to prove that they can participate in political movements and help the nation. Jose Mpama could not just stand and watch men struggling to make a better nation by themselves. In October 1991., a woman by the name of Anita Hill brought out allegations against Clarence Thomas. Anita Hill argued that Clarence Thomas, a perspective supreme court judge, sexually harassed her at work and outside of work. Anita explained that Clarence continuously pressured her about going on dates and speaking of other sexual matters. Though Anita spoke of these matters in court no one knew of these matters to be happening. Fearing to lose her job, Anita went along with the pressuring until she reached her breaking point of going public. Although Anita’s testimony sounds very factual, the article points out some discrepancies in the case. Firstly, if Anita were uncomfortable with Clarence’s actions she should have gone public when it first happened. Secondly, Anita never seemed to dislike the matters enough to put a halt on them. Lastly, Anita knowing that she hated the situation in which she was in she should have not taken the second job under Clarence Thomas.…

Anita Hill caught the world's attention when she accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment. Although Hill had effectively broken the silence about such a widespread problem, increasing the level of awareness about sexual harassment, many African-Americans came to regard her as a traitor of the group's interests. This particular type of burden is something that women of dominant racial groups do not usually face. Women who challenge discriminatory practices advocated by others as cultural practices often find themselves in a very precarious position. On one hand, sometimes one ethnic or racial group can easily trigger harsh criticism of the practices of another different group, even in the face of equally questionable abuses within their…
