Animal Testing Should Not Be Used In Modern Culture
Do you even know what animals are subjected to everyday? I’m about to tell you why animal testing is wrong and should not be used in modern culture anymore. Animal testing is inhumane. There are plenty of better ways to test and most animal testing is not even effective. Wanna hear why? Animals are put through so many awful things you wouldn’t even believe. Animals are restrained and burned, starved, dehydrated, and purposefully hurt to test remedies and healing processes. Does that sound fair? How about this? Some animals are killed by carbon dioxide. Neck breaking, or even decapitation. Listen to this, the Draize Eye Test where they hold a rabbit's eyelids open by clips so they can’t blink the products away. According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported in 2010 that 97,123 animals suffered from experiments. Now after that you're probably wondering why we still test on them like that. Well, some people choose to ignore all of the other methods that can be used to help other people and develop the same medicines and …show more content…
Most animal tests do not work and are not effective. Sure, people might argue that animal testing has advanced our medicine and saved countless lives. Well, that is true but, most things we are experimenting today, since we have came very far in the medicine department, can not be effectively tested on animals. Humans and animals are not much alike as well. Animals have different metabolic structures, and anatomy. Also, almost all drugs are re-tested on human subjects. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) states that 95% of drugs that were successfully tested on animals but failed in human tests because they were dangerous. The same thing happened with cancer medicine, 93% of tests failed on human trials but not on animal trials. Most medical advances for human health are not even based on animal trials. Just like Paul Furlong, professor of clinical neuroimaging, said “We’re not 70 kg

Therefore most of these animal tests are inaccurate. Diseases that may develop in humans are genetically engineered differently than any other animal. This relates back to the unethical side, as millions of animals are being tortuously killed just to be disposed of. Animal tests have no way of predicting the outcomes or results on a human, medical treatment is very specific to the individual being treated. Prescribed medicines are unique and are tweaked to work for that human specifically, testing on a whole new species does not effectively correspond to the human body.…

Though animal testing should be banned from ever being practiced or used again, people still view it as a necessity despite all of the evidence against it. Animal testing requires inhumane, unsanitary, unsafe, or cruel conditions that if done to humans would be outlawed since they either reduce the quality of life or cause disease or death. Seeing that animals are living, breathing creatures that want to survive just as much as people do, assuming that test conditions are not good for human kind, then they are not good for any living creatures. Furthermore, they are inherently wrong by nature. Tolerating animal cruelty promotes the same insensitivity that allows cruelty to people, such as serial killers and the early incidents of animal torture.…

In addition to inhumane living conditions, test subject animals are subject to painful and at times lethal procedures. Animals are often inflicted with burns and other wounds to study the healing process. The scientists also use this opportunity to observe how certain products such as drugs and ointments aid or harm the healing process. In a 2010 report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) it was reported that 97,123 animals used for product testing suffered pain during testing while given no anesthesia for pain. An…

Animal testing has always been a big issue around the world. Some people think that it is okay for animals to be tested on while others don’t. What even is animal testing? Animal testing is where scientists find new medications and test them on the animals before humans. Why might scientists test them on animals first? So, that if something goes wrong, only the animal would suffer and not a human. I am a critic for animal testing. I believe that animals have a purpose to the world just as much as humans do. Even if people don’t like rodents, that doesn’t mean we need to try and potentially kill them. Animals are very important to this world just like everyone else.…

In these experiments, there are tons of sources of error. They do not live in a human-like environment, instead they are confined and distressed. Secondly, researchers deliberately infect the animals with diseases they would not normally contract, after being healthy to begin with. Many drugs have varying results between different animals, and animals and humans. For example, penicillin kills guinea pigs, but does nothing to rabbits. According to the food and drug administration, 92% of drugs that pass animal tests fail human tests. Some chemicals that are harmful to animals are okay for humans, as well as the other way around. Animals are being sacrificed for experiments that don’t even have accurate or useful results. If the regulations for the environment test animals live in are enforced, it can reduce some of the factors that make an experiment not a fair…

Last year, over 167 million animals died due to animal research. At this rate, the number of animals that will die this year will be well over 200 million. Animals used in these testing facilities are treated in inhumane and disgusting ways. Dogs are forced to eat pesticides, monkeys have their skulls cracked, mice grow tumors larger than their own bodies, bunnies are blinded, the list of cruelties goes on and on. After having these excruciating and terrifying experiments performed on them, they are usually dumped back into a cramped…

Researchers need to test medicine using advanced technology not on animals. All researchers around the world need to find a safer more accurate way to test medication. If researchers keep using animals, their results will always be different for humans and they will never find a solution that will help people with their health. There are ways to test medication that are safer, faster, and cheaper than animal testing. If researchers use the technology animal testing will be eliminated from…

Animals everyday are suffering in laboratories because of animal testing. Animal testing is a horrible thing, even though it has lead to some medical breakthroughs. Although there better alternative options. If you weigh the pros and cons to animal testing it is clear that animal testing is wrong, even if there have been outcomes that have turned out well. Even though animal testing can help create cures, they have shorter life cycles, and sometimes finding cures for them, vitro testing, animals suffering, and the animals being extremely different from humans are all reasons why animal testing is a horrible thing.…

Animal experimentation is not only cruel, but expensive as well. Thankfully, there are accurate, cheaper and quicker alternatives. First, there are the In vitro tests which are used to diagnose disease or health of patients using the patient's blood sample or body tissue. Another is microdosing, where humans are given low quantities of a product to test the effects on the body, without affecting the whole body system. There are also many computerized patient-drug databases, virtual drug trials, and stem cell and genetic testing methods. The United States alone spends about $16 billion dollars every year, coming from taxpayers, for animal experimentation. Just think about how much money the US could save if it abolished animal testing as a whole. The US has been in debt and in a depression for years, yet it continues to throw money down the toilet just to torture and kill animals. Animals are NOT the only way to test…

Animal testing uses thousands to millions of dollars of taxpayer’s money but, in many cases it has been proven that animal experimentation has little or no scientific relevance. Each year, animals are being tested to show the effectiveness and safety of products, such as cosmetics, but how about if it’s not effective at all. How about it is a waste of time and money? Thousands of animals are experimented on that don’t grant assurance for humans. Animal testing should be banned in the U.S. because the genetic differences between humans and animals are tremendously wide.…

Animal testing is really mean and dangerous to the animals. They test cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, etc. Basically everything we used goes by them first. If they have a weird reaction to the stuff, they change the things they put in there. They are never fed water or the food animals actually eat. Another reason why animal testing should not occur is to use different techniques instead of using animals. Scientists are able to test on humans and then check their blood to observe if they have a strange reaction. Also, they want to use petri dishes that would give us better results than animals.…
