Animal Testing
In 2nd and 4th century BCE animal testing began, they used live animals to test experiments on. Now, even to this day, we use animals to test cosmetics, medicines, drugs, and medical research. Many people have realized how cruel these acts are to the animals and have tried to stop them but to no avail. Humans who use these helpless creatures have yet to realize how wrong it is and that they have feelings and are hurting from all our injections and concoctions used on them for our own greed. Animals have feelings, they have a nervous system and a brain, they know what is going on around them and can feel us poking and prodding them. We may give them medication to put them to sleep or so they cannot feel much pain but they still wake up distorted and abused. The living spaces they’re given are just big enough to where they can fit, they are often never cleaned, and can cause diseases among the animals. Some individuals say that testing is wrong and that we should save the animals, only, in their mind, they would only save the dogs and common household pets. Not many people treat all animals equal so that they would all get the same amount of care in their life. “Mice and rats are forced to inhale toxic fumes, dogs are force-fed pesticides, and rabbits have corrosive chemicals rubbed onto their skin and eyes,” PETA writes on their blog on animal testing. They have looked into testing and are trying to spread the word that it is a careless, unnecessary act and needs to be immediately terminated. Why are we testing human products on animals anyways? We are not animals, for that would be an insult to animals everywhere, so our products will not have the same affect on them as it does on us. Their fur, when sprayed with perfumes, will smell different than when we spray it on our necks and wrists. Testing medication that will be later used on a child’s cold on some species of pig makes no sense. We all have different systems inside of us, making a

In December 1995, AIDS patient Jeff Getty underwent an experimental treatment that involved injecting bone marrow cells from a baboon into his body to bolster his immune system (baboons are immune to the AIDS virus). The loss of the donor baboon was tolerable because scientists and doctors should use all methods at hand when combating deadly human diseases. Like the many other treatments and medicines that have contributed to improved human health, the cure for AIDS will undoubtedly come through animal experimentation. (Editor’s…

Every year millions of animals are subjected to horrible unethical experimentations in order to advance medical science. Dogs, cats, monkeys, mice, and other animals are kept in dark rooms in cages while being exposed to various toxic and poisonous substances daily in order to test how the substance may react in humans. These poor creatures suffer from inhumane treatments and are denied any form of happiness, and these experiments should cease and alternatives should be used instead. Animal testing is a cruel and ineffective medical practice that produces unreliable results and those laboratories should use safer alternatives that will provide more accurate results.…

They have a right to live peacefully and are not just subjects that should be tested on. Even though animals are a bit different from human, people cant kill them for their own sake. Animal testing is rarely successful since animals have different physiologies than humans. There has been many studies that have shown inaccuracy and unsuccess in animal testing. Studies show, “90 percent of medications approved for human use after animal testing later proved ineffective or harmful to humans in clinical trials” (Stop Animal Testing) and also, “Animal-tested drugs have killed, disabled or harmed millions of people and lead to costly delays as well” (Stop Animal Testing). It is evident that animal testing lacks accuracy and has dangerous consequences, therefore it should no longer be…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. (Animal Testing…

Animal testing has been going on for a couple of years now. Scientists use animal testing as a form of “safe” testing. According to Humane Society International, animal testing is, “Procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into the basic biology and diseases, assessing the effectiveness of new medicinal products, and testing the human health and/or environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, household cleaners, food additives, pharmaceuticals and industrial/agro-chemicals. (1)” Many companies use animal testing because it is easier, or more ethical, to…

There are a lot of bad things that happen in this world and Animal Testing is one of them. Doctors,Scientists and other people test on these animals everyday. In my opinion there should be no animal testing at all. It is cruel. Right now there are millions of animals sitting in cold cages waiting for their next painful procedure. The stress, sterility and boredom causes them to develop neurotic behaviors such as, biting themselves and running around in circles. Most of these animals are killed after the testing because there is no possible way for them to live after this has happened. More than 100 million animals suffer this torture. Exact numbers have not been found, in rats, mice, birds, and cold blooded animals take up about 90 percent.…

Many people today can say they love their pet, whether it is a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or fish. Little do we actually think about the animals suffering to the torture of cruel animal testing that goes on behind the scenes of the company’s we love. Maybelline, Head and Shoulders, and Clorox are all companies that test on animals, yet are still supported by the thousands of people that buy and use their products. I believe the main reason people continue to support companies that perform animal testing is because society today is not informed or educated about the severity of animal testing. People do not know or care to research if a company performs animal testing. Besides consumers keeping these companies alive and running, animal testing is not humane or morally right. It has been scientifically proven that animals can to a certain extent feel pain (Tell Me if it Hurts: Investigating Whether Animals Feel Pain by Caroline…

Radiation sickness is no enemy a person would wish to encounter, so why do we knowingly subject innocent animals to endure our tests, just to see how harmful radiation is? There are many ways to experiment on an animal, like injecting or force feeding, exposure to radiation, surgically removing organs or tissue to deliberately cause damage, forcing them to inhale toxic gas, and subjecting them in frightening situations to create anxiety and depression ("Cruelty Free International.") It may sound sadistic, and twisted, but put a little trust in the way of science, and let’s look at how animal testing has positive and negatives.…

Most households today have a beloved cat, dog, rabbit, fish, or other pet of some sort that they unconditionally care for and protect. What if your pet had ended up in a laboratory, forced to undergo painful experiments, instead of in your care? Unfortunately, that has been the fate of millions of animals every year dating back since before the nineteenth century. Researchers believe they are helping people by putting animals through these cruel experiments, but it has been proven that most of the results end up being incorrect in human trials. Billions of dollars are being provided to medical universities, institutes, and companies for…
