A good experiment has a least number of animals needed to gather the necessary data however the testing must provide significant information. The testing must be done is a way that the animal suffers the least. The animal ethical guidelines are very strict and protocols must be performed by scientist. I am not going to argue against the point that animal research is necessary. But as the saying goes, “where there is a will, there is a way.” So maybe it is possible to find a way where we can conduct experiments without the expense of innocent animals. It may cost us a lot of money and it may even mean that finding the cure for deathly diseases will take even longer without the help of animal research. It simply begs the question, exactly how valuable are our morals are to us?…

Animal research is important in understanding diseases and developing ways to prevent them. Kidney transplants, the polio vaccine, and heart surgery techniques have all been developed with the help of animal research. With increased efforts throughout the scientific community, effective treatments for diabetes, diphtheria, and many other diseases have had increased effectiveness courtesy of animal testing. Scientists inject a lab animal with a virus such as AIDS or cancer, and then try to cure them. If it works on a lab animal, they have developed a new cure. The followers of animal testing agree that if animal testing had been eliminated, that many of the medications and medical procedures that we currently use today wouldn’t be present and the expansion of future treatment would be greatly restricted. For example, more than 100,000 people have been hospitalized and later died from toxic reactions to medications in 1994 that were not predicted by animal…
