Animal Farm Character Analysis
Clash of Candidates
The area was ripe for the taking. While wandering, the stray dogs and cats had stumbled upon an abandoned park shelter in the middle of the forest, accompanied by a large bedraggled field of dirt and grass. The shelter itself was devoid of life, and its atmosphere gave off uncanny vibes. Despite this, the strays came to adored it, and after approving it suitable and sufficient for living, they happily declared it their new home.
While in the midst of joyful hullabaloo, an issue overcame one of the dogs, Kanye. Kanye was a tall brown and tan german shepherd. His eyes had a fierce smolder, and his presence screamed extreme clout. He was acknowledged for his great intellect and persistence, but he was also known for having an arrogant and whiny personality. He ran to the front of the shelter and quickly silenced the mass.

I hate to interrupt our cheer, but it has come apparent to me that if we are to build a successful community, then we must have a leader. You may ask, ‘How should we decide?’ Well I’m sure you have all heard about what happened on Animal Farm.” Gossip and rumour started to infect the animals. “That’s why I believe we should vote for our leader. And I have decided to enter the race. The race will last one week, and the animal who receives the majority of the vote will become ruler. Will anyone else challenge me?” Every animal took a step back, doubting their ability to compare with Kanye’s intellect, except for one. The one exception was Oprah, a snow-white Persian cat with glowing green eyes. Although she didn’t have even close to the intellect of Kanye, she was notorious for her extremely charismatic, strong-willed, and omnibenevolent personality. “Ah, Oprah. Nice of you to join me. We have ourselves

A famous author named Richard Wright once said, “All literature is a protest”. In simpler terms, books have been written to raise awareness about problems in order for humans to find solutions for them. This quote is true because in most works of literature the author makes their characters go through difficult obstacles to overcome that not everyday people go through. The book Night was written to protest against anti-Semitism, which means hatred towards Jews. This book took place during the Holocaust where times were hard and unforgettable for the Jews. The main character Elie takes the reader on a grieving journey where he describes his accounts from the Holocaust where he was mistreated and was seen as an outsider. On the other hand, the book Animal Farm by George Orwell was written to alert the world about totalitarian leaders and perplexed people. Totalitarian leaders had control over society, which gave them the right to mistreat their people and abuse their power. Napoleon who was the main villain of…

This passage reminds of the scene in Animal Farm where Benjamin is trying to save Boxer from going on the van that is taking him to the glue factory. Therefore, Benjamin was shouting at Boxer who was already on the van, just like how Liesel runs down to Munich Street to see the Max for the last time. While the bystanders in this passage are like the other animals in Animal Farm who didn’t help Benjamin at all and just stood there to watch the van drive by. All in all these text allows me to visualize the scene better and feel that Liesel is heartbroken as her best friend is being taken away. Likewise Benjamin is devastated when he realizes that he would not be able to see his best friend, Boxer ever again.…

John F. Kennedy once stated “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. In other words, if we can’t resolve our problems peacefully, then violent revolution is bound to happen. This is true because in life when people cannot get what they want peacefully, they turn to violence. The pieces of literature which prove the quote true are the book; Animal Farm written by George Orwell, and the song; “The International” written by Eugene Pottier. Animal Farm relates to this lens because the animals have a revolution which turns out to be entirely violent, and not at all peaceful. “The International” relates to the lens because it is about the servants coming together to fight for their freedom instead of peacefully working towards it.…

In the novel Animal Farm, George Orwell hints that power corrupts through the use of an allegorical storyline. By using historical criticism, one can analyze the causes and effects of ruthless ambition. During the WWII era, there was widespread corruption in many nations, as seen in Germany with Hitler and Russia with Stalin. This time period of chaos exposed the lack of compassion among humans. Similar to this era, there were cultural and political struggles among the humans and animals in the farm as well. Ironically, in the animal’s struggle to free themselves of human dictatorship they end up oppressing their own kind.…

To commence, the characters in both novels represent vulnerability in a similar fashion through characters in two different ways, the first of which is vulnerability through gullibility. In Animal Farm, Orwell uses the characters Boxer and Clover to embody this characteristic; this is especially clear when Orwell writes, “Having once accepted the pigs as their teachers, they absorbed everything that they were told, and passed it on to the other animals” (Orwell 37). Without using reason to analyze the pigs intentions and motifs, the horses are unable to realize that they are being manipulated into helping the pigs complete their plans to enslave the other animals. Their ignorance thus leaves them vulnerable to the malices of the real world.…

The longhouse seemed to simply rise up out of the ground, for the walls and roof were covered with turf. A steady billow of smoke rose out of the smoke hole in the roof. I entered the house and immediately the stench of cattle reached my nostrils. I saw two columns of wooden posts, placed firmly in the dirt floor, that stretched all the way down the length of the house supporting the roof beams. In between each of these posts were benches…

In the novel Animal Farm, the most ruthless and mean character is none other than Napoleon. Napoleon is one of the three main pigs on the farm. He is in love with power, although he may have gone overboard. If Napoleon were to be described in three words, they would be selfish, dishonest, and brutal. At first you would think he cared about all the other animals, but later in the novel, it is discovered that Napoleon is only for himself. Napoleon was selfish in many ways; from taking extra milk and apples for the pigs, to chasing Snowball off of the farm so that he would have full power. Squealer, Napoleon’s speaker, said bad things to make the animals hate Snowball. Squealer also made it seem like making Snowball leave was a bold…
