Animal Farm Book Vs Book Analysis
Has one ever read a book to find out the movie was nothing like it? Or has someone ever read a book to then watch the movie to realize that the movie and the book are very similar in the content? What way would a viewer prefer better? Most viewers would prefer the movie to be the same as the book so that they can understand what is going on throughout the movie. Most times, someone that has read the book and goes to watch the movie gets very confused when they do not go in the same order or have different events happening throughout. As there are many differences that occur throughout the book and the movie, there are major ones that have a huge impact on how the audience reacts and interprets the meaning. There were many things that were …show more content…
In the movie, the audience is outside observers so we see every single thing that happens throughout the farm. We see what happens with the pigs and are aware of Napoleon’s games throughout the whole movie. In the book, the audience members are inside observers, which means we can only see what the other animals are able to see. The different ways that the audience is able to view the story could cause a problem. The audience is able to see what problems are going to occur throughout the movie, but in the book the audience members are blind to the issues. This could cause the audience members to dislike the book since they cannot see the full picture, only what the animals are able to …show more content…
In chapter one, this song is first introduced during Old Major’s speech. This song has a magnificent impact on all of the animals (13). The song also influence the animals to rebel. In the movie, the song is changed to “Beasts of the World” and does not have a very high impact on the animals. This song is only sung one time throughout the movie, which also causes it to have a small impact on the animals. The author could be showing in the book that the song could be the cause of the rebellion, but in the movie, it does not matter how the song is sung. This could have a huge impact on the audience members because they could react differently when the title of the song is changed. This could cause the audience to lean more towards the book since it shows a reason why the animals decide to rebel. Another main difference in the movie and the book is how the windmill is built and the process. In the book the process of building the windmill is very detailed (32-33). We can feel the animal’s frustration when the windmill is destroyed for the second time. During the movie, the building of the windmill is not discussed much. There is no timeframe discussed as to how long it took to build and who helped build it. The movie also has a lack of how the pigs can talk the other animals into keep working and how the windmill only gets destroyed

Why is it that when a book gets it’s own movie that there are several differences between the book and the movie? Some people argue that the book is always better than the movie. There is a reason for this. Firstly, in most book to movie adaptations small details are changed or are just not included. Secondly, the movie often takes short cuts and doesn’t touch on certain aspects that were described in the book. Lastly, when reading a book you are free to make your own subtext and fill in the blanks with your imagination. The movie adaptations of books have always lacked the detail that's in the book, some things are completely cut from the movie to maintain a well paced story, and it fills in the gaps for us making the experience less unique.…

I think, hopefully along with you, the reader that books are greater than the movie, especially in this case. For some extra details, here are some good mentions. The book, produced in 1886, had more evidence that Alan had committed the Appin Murder than the movie! Also, the plot and timing of character scenes were off. One example was when Davie asked the woman in the book where the House of Shaws was, in the movie it was a man! Also, in the book, the woman had hatred for the House of Shaws, when in the movie he had no hatred that would of made the movie slightly more…

In many movies there is a book created before the movie so the movie can base it off the book. Such as unbroken, a story of a man that was never broken after being held prisoner in japan during WWII, this book was made before the movie and came out completely different. The movie only took the important parts of the book such as running in the olympics and being held prisoner. In the movie there are many key differences between the book and the movie, but they both are still very similar. There are so many books and movies like that.…

The book and the movie are similar in many ways, especially the plot, the characters, and what the characters say. The similarities outnumber the differences, especially since the differences are so few and do not have much in common. The similarities are many and encompass much of the movie and the book. More movies should be similar to their corresponding book as this set…

When you read a book do you visualize the movie in your head? When books are turned into movies most the time the author’s message is ruined, and the integrity of the novel. When someone writes a novel they write it from their point of view, their vision, it’s their story. But when a director hears, or reads the book they see it differently and from their point of view. Novels become a different novel when turned into a Hollywood movie because no one visualizes the same characters, settings or themes.…

One thing in particular that the book does much better is making use of complex metaphors and themes, such as: the river for life, and oneness with nature, that string themselves together as you turn each page of the book, while in the movie the metaphors and symbolism are represented in a much different way through picture. In the book, both themes regarding the river are very vivid and clear, as they use strong imagery of nature to draw pictures in the minds of the readers. In the movie both themes are represented and referred to much less because of the lack of narration.…

Why I think the moviemaker chose those difference between the book and the movie was because in the book there was a narrator to tell you specific things. The narrator is there to tell some background information and make sure you get a better grasp of what’s taking place. So I feel as if in the movie they wanted you to pay closer attention to what was happening. And you have to have some differences between the two. While in the movie you can see more action and can sometimes explain things better by acting out, rather than being written out.…

In the novel Animal Farm, George Orwell hints that power corrupts through the use of an allegorical storyline. By using historical criticism, one can analyze the causes and effects of ruthless ambition. During the WWII era, there was widespread corruption in many nations, as seen in Germany with Hitler and Russia with Stalin. This time period of chaos exposed the lack of compassion among humans. Similar to this era, there were cultural and political struggles among the humans and animals in the farm as well. Ironically, in the animal’s struggle to free themselves of human dictatorship they end up oppressing their own kind.…

Animal Farm is basically a story of communism told in the setting of a farm. Because of a very convincing vision of a dying pig, the animals led by the younger pigs revolt against the cruel human farm owner, one pig, takes over and tries to turn the farm into a sort of Utopia with guidelines to prevent animals from becoming like man and the farm prospered, but he's chased out by another pig, hungry of power and cruel. The said pig begins to manipulate and brainwash the other animals while slowly turning into the same type of person that the owner originally was and the farm starts a rather unpleasant downfall.…

Another difference between the movie and the book are the animals that attacked Brian while he was in the wilderness. In the movie the bear attacked Brian and destroyed his shelter and he wrestled and injured the bear. Also in the movie Brian got attacked by a raccoon. While in the book Brian sees the bear but doesn’t have any physical contact with her. In the book Brian got attacked by a moose and a skunk. In this event I discovered some differences but also some similarities like the wolf, porcupine and the mosquitoes attack.…

Animal Farm shows how society functions by using animals instead of humans. At the beginning, Napoleon treats his followers fairly. He respected them first, but at the end, he treated them extremely poorly. “Vote for Napoleon and he’ll fully take care of the farm,” (Orwell, Page 50) In the evidence, Napoleon treat the animals like citizens and let them vote for him. At the beginning of his reign, he helped out with the farm a bit. “Napoleon ended of his speech with his usual cry of “Long live animal farm” and after singing ‘Beasts of England’,” (Orwell, Page 64) but later on when he gets more control of the farm, he makes them stop singing that. He claims “It starts rebellion.” It's important that they stopped singing…

The brilliance of George Orwell’s writing has rendered Animal Farm one of the best socio-political historical allegorical fables ever written. The book was written in 1945 involving animals. The story takes place in a farm called Manor Farm. Engulfed with poor leadership and lack of care of their owners, the farm is then taken over by its battered and mistreated animals. The animals were free and assumed leadership of their own, with their own set of rules & regulations thus were prosperous free of human oppression. Eventually though, the farm experienced bad leadership twice as bad as when the animals weren’t free. With extreme graft & corruption and tyranny, the farm lost its sense of prosperity and freedom that it strongly fought for.…
