Animal Farm Anticipation Guide Responses
Animal Farm Anticipation Guide Responses

1. All people are created equal.

I disagree, because I do not believe that everyone is created equal. Some people are born with disadvantages in the social field, while others are blessed with almost every characteristic that our modern society considers “perfect”. The socially disadvantaged people have to go through their entire lives dealing with judgement from everyone, and it is not their fault. I do believe that at birth, everyone is completely equal, but it is as they are growing up the the social inequalities come in. Society judges them for being who they are, and creates those inequalities.

2. Society would be improved if everyone earned equally, and wealth was distributed equally.

I agree that society would be improved if everyone earned equally, because then there would be no more people suffering from poverty, and our economy would soar. No one would be better than anyone else (in the terms of salary) and everyone would be happy. People could spend less time trying to make money, and spend more time with their family and friends. Our society would be much more prosperous, and everyone would be happy. There could possibly even be less wars because people are too busy enjoying themselves.

3. We should tax those who earn more according to their ability, and distribute wealth evenly to others according to their need.

I disagree, because I do not believe that it is fair to force people to pay higher taxes just because they are wealthy. I also do not agree with the idea of evenly distributing wealth to people just because they need it. Money is a luxury that should be earned through hard work, not distribution. If the money is going to be dispensed freely, everyone should receive the same amount, no matter what their need is. This will make society more fair and everyone will be equal.

4. Talented, intelligent, and ambitious people are the most qualified leaders because they know best

Beatty said an interesting statement that “We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone made equal.” (55) When Beatty first said this statement, I was quite surprised because of how true the statement was. We never really thought about how this world worked, so no one actually pays attentions to their surroundings and goes along with the flow of everything. Then suddenly the truth hits you in the face and you come back to reality shocked and confused. That is how I first felt when I read Beatty’s statement. However, I completely agree with Beatty’s statement, because if you take a look around you, you could see the meaning behind Beatty’s statement. For example, if a person does not have his legs, he becomes disabled, and would have a hard time moving around. Wheelchairs are then invented to assist them in moving around move freely. This person was not equal to most of the people because he couldn’t move around that much, but now with the wheelchair he could move around like everyone else. He was made equal with the help of a wheelchair, and not born equal. Humans are all different, with some being better than others. This just proves the fact that not everyone is born equal, but made equal because of the jealousy that people would get. The less capable would then have to work harder to catch up to the one who is more capable. He worked hard to catch up, and was made equal to him. If everyone was born equal they would not be a living thing anymore, but a robot, because robots are almost all the same, No living organism is identical to another, so of course there are inequalities, and so things are invented and developed to try to make everyone…

    Essay On Flat Tax

It is unfair to pay more for the same service as people who pay less. It is silly to force someone to pay extra taxes because they're rich. It is like communism. It would be an opinion if someone wants to pay more tax and it would be considered prestigious. This will solve all problems and it will help the economy if it mainstream, but some people disagree with this and think that rich people should pay higher taxes because some people can't even afford groceries or to pay their bills. They are paying the same thing as the rich people so this is not fair for poor people to pay the same as rich…

Totally agree. You got the point across that there will never be a complete balance. It is impossible to satisfy everyone. One article said, middle class people’s net assets are declined for the last five years. Many companies which they targeted the middle class consumers had falloff in sales. Shrinking middle class means that the gap between the rich and poor is growing. In other words, shrinking the middle class causes expansion of the lower class. However, I do not think that raising taxes on the wealthy is not an ultimate solution. It will causes outflowing of domestic capital into overseas markets and decreasing in investment. Reducing taxes is the tendency of the world because of the regional economic vitalization. If tax system increase…

Some people feel the rich do not pay their fair share in taxes. “The 95th/50th ratio in 2011 was $186,000 divided by $50,054, which equals 3.72. In other words, the income of houses in the 95th percentile was 3.72 times the income of households in the 50th percentile. Those in the top 25th percentile obtained a vast majority of the income in America (79.5% in 2007 and 75.9% in 2010.” (Evans, “Wealth”). This does prove that wealth is not evenly distributed among all Americans, which is an understandable thing to be upset…

I believe that equality is increasingly getting better as Obama said in his speech. Economics and income is almost something a person cannot control. If a person puts in the time to get a higher education, then that person should be paid more. Economics is an ever changing thing and people just have to accept the fact that it will most likely never be exactly equal amongst everybody.…

    Income Inequality

When someone has more money than another person they tend to brag about it. They are capable of buying more, having more, and doing more than an un-wealthy person. And the people who are not as rich as others struggle. There is a difference between earning the money, when you work hard for it and earn money. But there is also a difference of receiving money for no reason. And that is how most wealthy people are now-a-days. When you work hard to get something, no one should be able to take anything away from you. If you stole something that did not belong to you then its wrong. And most the time someone with a lot of money teases another that is not so wealthy or is not as wealthy as them. They show off their car, house, phone, etc. If you earned a nice house or car or phone you should take advantage of it and keep it knowing you earned it. Some people become wealthy from the lottery, which is also another thing. When someone gains a lot of money they tend to "throw people away". They know they have a lot of money so they get rid of people who used to always help them. The government also "favors" certain individuals giving them money when they do not deserve it or did not work for it. When society pays taxes who does it go to? The people who do not work, the people who can not get a job because of their background, and in most terms it is…

Unlike previously, our nation 's widening income inequality gap does not appear to be slowing down, rather it is constantly increasing. This infinitly expanding gap puts a heavy toll on the nation 's less fortunate who find themselves seemingly against insurmountable odds. However, with effective action being taken by the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, the issue of income inequality can finally be tackled. Ultimately, it should be our nation 's priority to decrease income inequality, once more establishing the United states as the land of…

“All animals are equal… but some animals are more equal than others.” The largest single struggle throughout the entire story of Animal Farm would have to be the animals struggle for equality. The animals are forced to suffer through terrible conditions under the leadership of Mr. Jones. The brainwashing effect the pigs had on the farm caused many of the animals to forget the principles of equality and accept the hypocritical nature of Napoleon and his minions.…

    Animal Farm. Fable?

One classic characteristic of a fable is to have animal characters, and most characters in animal farm are animals. In this novel, Napoleon is a pig who becomes the leader of the farm and has human traits. He is the pig who takes the farm over after Old Major dies. Another animal character is Boxer. He is hard-working and never gives up. These are important traits because they are human like. “All animals are equal” (page 43). This goes along with having animal characters because the animals were all supposed to be the same. As in, they were all supposed to have the same rights as humans do.…
