The first conflict i noticed while reading this book was the conflict between the animals and Mr.Jones, The Animals V.S Mr.Jones. The animal are sick of being treated poorly by him, The drinking problem he has developed is the cause of this and the terrible job he is doing running the farm but he has control over all the animals. Mr.Jones takes all the product of their labor but gives nothing of value to the animals in return. This conflict is resolved when the animals revolt and force Jones and his workers off the farm. The animals are now free to run the place and make it the utopia they dreamed about,
The second conflict I noticed is between Snowball and Napoleon. They start out working together to formulate the principles of the Animalism philosphy. They work together to paint the seven commandments on the side of the barn. As time goes on however, Snowball and Napoleon argue over the future of the farm and how things are run. Snowball is intelligent and very passionate and eloquent in his speechs to the animals. He truly believes that a utopia is possible and that all the animals are equals. Snowball works hard to spread Animalism and to improve the Animal Farm He wins the loyalty of the other animals. However, Napoleo is sneakier. He manages to get He manages to get the other animals on his side between meetings. Napoleon, from the beginning of the uprising, has cheated the other animals. He never really makes any contributions to the Rebellion, the formulation of Animalism, or the establishment of the new society at the Animal Farm. He doesn't work; he just supervises. He keeps the apples and milk for himself and the other pigs. Napoleon tires of the competition with Snowball so he sets his trained guard dogs on him and

When Old Major dies a few nights after his famous Rebellion speech, Napoleon and Snowball, both boars, combine together and formulate his main principles into a philosophy called Animalism. A few nights later when they have defeated Mr Jones in battle and changed the farm name to Animal Farm they work together in running the farm. Napoleon uses Squealer to be his mouthpiece for propaganda. Napoleon, Squealer and Snowball first codify Old Major's sayings into "Animalism". This give the animals some kind of guide and explanation for changes made to the Animal Farm. However, Napoleon is not opposed to changing some of the tenets of animalism to suit his own purposes. Using Squealer as his voice, he has explanations for why the pigs need the milk, and why the commandments keep changing. His biggest coup is changing history to include the idea that Snowball was really an enemy of the revolution and never received the order of "Animal Hero, First Class." Napoleon also has Squealer teach the animals a new song to replace Old Major's original anthem. The new song explains why the pigs are walking on their hind legs. The animals are influenced to believe that "Napoleon is always right," and that there is no one else who could possibly be correct. The first thing that the animals changed about the farm is the name. They changed the name of the farm from Manor farm, to Animal farm. They all learn the song "beasts of England" that Old major had taught them before the rebellion. They have also made up 7 commandments that all animals on the farm must live by. They use the phrase "four legs good, two legs bad," to remember the 7 commandments. They use this because not all animals on the farm can read, but sense the rebellion a lot of them have learned, or have learned few letters of the alphabet. The pigs can read and write perfectly.
