Animal Experimentation: The Bad Side Effects Of Animal Testing On Animals
Animal experimentation is not a thing to joke about, people are using animals against their will to test products on them. This is relevant in life because people will joke around about how the animals are fine but there are many side effects if the makeup is not right or correct. For example, Covergirl the makeup company has tested on animals since 2012. Covergirl tests on adorable kittens for the face makeups like lipstick, mascara, eyeliner, etc. The results of testing makeup products can vary. Animal experimentation does bad things to animals and they should have their own rights because experimentation creates inequality among animals, harmful side effects on animals and lastly, there are alternate populations to test.

According to the article, Animal Experimentation states, “150 brain-damaged baboons at the University of Pennsylvania's Head Injury Clinic in 1983. The Animal Liberation Front, a group that uses threats, sabotage, and other illegal means to draw attention to animal cruelty, claimed responsibility for a raid at the clinic and worked with PETA to publicize the situation” (Driscoll S Finley Paragraph 18). This evidence supports my claim because it shows that all kinds of animals can get hurt by even the littlest thing that is tested on them. This is important because it shows by just testing one product is show that it caused them to get hurt/injured. The main reason why this is so bad for the animals is that it shows why and how when animals are tested on more that kills than and eventually, they will become extinct. The connection between why it hurts animals and why they should not feel this way shows that people are hurting the animals by testing on them so they have no rights whatsoever. Even though they are hurting animals for experimentation there are many side effects of the main disease or issue the experiment has caused. For example, in the article Animal Experimentation they states, “In research and testing, animals are subjected to experiments that can include everything from testing new products to infecting with diseases, poisonous for toxicity tests, burning skin, …show more content…
Some people believe that humans shouldn’t be tested on because they could feel sad because they believe that they just killed or injured someone that is their own kind. According to the article, Animal Experimentation it states “ More and more scientists are taking a hard look at the relevance of animal experiments for human diseases and improving our lives. The evidence is showing that we can actually get much better answers about human health and develop much more effective therapies if we use human-based tests instead”(Driscoll S Finley Paragraph 24). This shows how bad the humans should feel for the animals and should want to use them

Nowadays there are many companies that test their products on animals such as makeup and painkillers. Not many people pay attention to this fact, but in actuality they should. Excuses for companies using animals for testing are that they have similarities in their tissues and DNA. Though parts of the human body vs. an animal’s body may have similarities but people must keep in mind that we are two totally different species. Science shows that animals rarely serve as good models for the human body so why would we feel safe with the product anyways. The best thing for us to do is test out products on other humans so then we can get reliable and accurate results. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that 92% of all drugs that are shown to be safe and effective in animal testing fail in human trials; from this information you can see that testing on animals isn't very reliable or safe for our safety and health. Also, it was said in multiple science journals that testing on animals would be a waste of time and life, both human and animal. Testing on animals is dangerous for both species.…

Not only humans, but animals also benefit from the use of animal testing. In fact, if animals aren’t used for medical research certain vaccines for rabies, hepatitis and other diseases wouldn’t be curable (Trull). However, many people argue that the human anatomy differs from that of animals. Nonetheless, animals and humans still share common features. For example, monkeys, just like humans, share the same fundamental use of hormones to counteract infections, which has helped scientist improve research (Trull). For the people who doubt animal testing should go to hospitals and look at patients who have survived from illnesses and diseases, because if it had not been for animals lives wouldn’t be…

In the article “Animal Testing Is Cruel and Immoral Regardless of the Benefits Associated With It,” by George Wright and Steve Hoagland, the authors, argue that the use of animals for medical experiments is an immoral practice. The authors describe why people do not ask if the human species is more deserving of under going medical experiments than the animals. Also, in the article by Peter Singer, he said that if we share with them a capacity to suffer, this means that animals like people have interests. Like racism or sexists who believe that those who belong to their race or sex are superior, we are doing the same to the animals. But, there is no difference because animals also can feel. Why can only animals suffer? Wright and Hoagland demonstrate, that the human take advantage to govern the animals like capturing them and holding them in tiny cages. The authors give examples, about the last incident in 1983 at the University of Pennsylvania in which 150 baboons suffered brain damage. No doubt, there are a lot of cruelty of animals, but not just for the the…

Animal experimentation is a highly controversial subject throughout the world and in the 20th century the public has become increasingly aware of the two sides to animal testing. The earliest dated animal testing can be traced back to 384-322 BCE and it is still a common practice to this day. There are a few disagreements that are highly debated about animal experimentation such as the importance of the testing for scientific and medical goals, the suffering of the animals, and the ethical principles that apply to animals. Both sides of animal experimentation have their reasons and facts for why animal testing is ethical or unethical, but it comes down to the amount of pain the animals suffers and if it is morally correct.…

    Animal Testing: the Facts

Why is it that people think it is okay to conduct scientific experiments on animals? The most common response to this question is that human beings are intellectually superior to the other species of animals roaming the planet, but this reason alone is not enough to justify the act of animal experimentation. If that is the only reason that can be produced, then here is another question. “What about infants and mentally disabled people”, who are on the same, if not a lower, intellectual level as the animals that are experimented on, so how come people only perform scientific experiments on the animals? This is probably because it is considered unethical or immoral to scientifically experiment on a human being. So why is it ok to experiment on the animals? Maybe, because they cannot talk or defend themselves, so there is no way of asking for their consent. Where as if you wanted to test on a human, you would need that person’s…

What product features grab the attention of the customer who strolls down the cosmetic aisle of the store? Is it the discovery of which perfume smells appealing or which brand of shampoo is the cheapest? Or does the consumer consider whether animals suffered during testing to ensure that the purchased shampoo or perfume was safe for human use? My guess is probably not. Little does our society recognize that many drugs, cosmetic items, and household chemicals have been rigorously tested on animals before ever lining the shelves of local department and grocery stores and in this process animals have been harmed or sacrificed.…

Animals do not have a say once they are taken away from their current living space, and then killed or have to suffer through what the researchers put them through. These innocents now are being punished, abused, and now have more risks and a shortened life span. Realistically, in my opinion, in order to experiment on animals you really don’t have a heart. People who love animals, could never and would never experiment on them because the things that people do to them we really don’t deserve the satisfaction of animals. “Animals used in experiments are commonly subjected to force feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, the infliction of burns and other wounds to study the healing process, the infliction of pain to study its effects and remedies, and "killing by carbon dioxide asphyxiation, neck-breaking, decapitation, or other means." This piece of textual evidence is explaining how animals are not treated properly while being used in experimentation. Animals are forced to do things unwanted to, and also are deprived of certain things. Consider the people who have to do this for a living- they are finding cures for us humans, and also testing products such as cosmetics and shampoos and making sure that we can use them. You may think that animal testing is beneficial, but it's not, it's putting animals life in danger. Rabbits are used to test cosmetics and shampoos, during this process rabbits are powerless and have their eyelids opened by clips this can occur for days. Moving forward, as you can see many animals are harmed during the process and it is very heartbreaking to hear about the many animals that are hurt or killed to find cures for us. If you anyone who loves animals, if animal experimentation is okay, they would say it was abusive, because you taking the life of an innocent animal and putting it in…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Animal Testing is the process of using products on non human animals for experimentation to record the reaction the animal has in order to see the effects of a product. Each year over 100 million innocent animals are killed for animal testing. Usually products used on animals will have negative effects regarding the animals that will result in painful effects for the animals. Animal testing is a great advance in medical technology, but hurts the animals that are being tested on. Products that animals could be tested on include cosmetics, skincare, cleaning supplies, household items, and some foods. Companies feel the need to test on animals to see the reaction in an animal to determine what could happen when the consumer uses uses the product.…
