Introduction- Throughout the history of man kind one question has been constantly ASKED and never seems to get a definite answer. The question is who are we? And where do we come from? Rather then spark a religious verse science debate and draw a very emotional line in society we let everyone believe what they want to believe. However regardless of what you want to believe facts are facts and science is science. After going through the Diversity one, two and three labs many things became evident that were somewhat unclear before. One of these things is that we , as man may argue about where we came form and when we got here but we are mere children in the history of planet earth and mere infants in the life that has existed here. The goal of this lab was to understand and be familiar with the millions of organisims that live on earth everday and hiow they got here. The goal was to understand how certain species died out, how they evolved to survive and how organisims have managed to make it millions of years on this planet. This lab takes a look at the three domains Bacteria, Archea, and Eukarya, which contain animals, protists, fungi, bacteria, and plants. And after our observations from the lab me and mark grey my partner concluded many concrete facts about life, evolution, traits and survival.…

In the, “Exotic Animals Belong in the Wild,” essay, the author made a good, persuasive case. They used a lot of evidence to back up their case, and they also included a lot of details. It is quite clear that the author does not think people should be able to own exotic pets. First of all, the author included a lot of evidence to back up their case. For example, the author said, “Most animal rights groups, such as the Humane Society of the United States and Born Free USA, agree that wild animals are not meant to be kept as pets.”…

The rabbit bandicoot also known as the Biliby is endangered, and has been for eight years. It has been vulnerable to the environment for three years. They are endangered because feral cats and other larger animals hunt them. Also, there is competition between other animals for food. Another reason why they are endangered is because of land clearing and livestock grazing habits the grasslands are disappearing, which is where the Bilibies live. It is important to save these animals because they used to be a very important source of food for native people before they became endangered around the year 1950. Now the Biliby has become a symbol of Australia’s efforts to save its native species. Biliby’s are small they are about 9 to 10 inches long.…

I believe you can make a dog with puppies also take care of kittens by giving the kittens to the dog after the puppies are born. It may also be good if the kittens were orphans. For example: In the passage “Unusual Animal Relationships”, when it talks about the relationship between the dog and the orangutan, it explains how the orangutan (Suryia) became “orphaned after losing his parents”, and it wasn’t until he met the dog (Roscoe) that Suryia became happy, and Roscoe became his friend. Going back to the kittens, they may want parents so much, that they will be excited to have the dog as a mother. Plus, the dog, being the good mother she is, may care less about the fact that she now has more babies to take care of. Especially ones that are…

The term exotic animal describes any type of animal that is "more unusual than the standard cat or dog" (Slater). Larry Keller writes, "Every year thousands of animals are brought illegally into the United States… illegal trade includes animals both dead and alive. The taking of endangered [and exotic] species from the wild, and the pollution and destructions of their habitat is decimating many species." Television, movies, magazines, and other forms of media attractively portray the owning of exotic animals as pets. Owning exotic animals seem to be a symbol of status amongst the rich and famous because of their price and rarity. Many actors, singers, esteemed boxers, and other types of celebrities own exotic pets such…

The patchwork of isolated islands, the tropical location of the country, and the once extensive areas of rainforest have resulted in high species diversity in some groups of organisms and a very high level of endemism. There are five major and at least five minor centers of endemism, ranging in size from Luzon, the largest island (103,000 km²), which, for example, has at least 31 endemic species of mammals, to tiny Camiguin Island (265 km²) speck of land north of Mindanao, which has at least two species of endemic mammals. The Philippines has among the highest rates of discovery in the world with sixteen new species of mammals discovered in the last ten years. Because of this, the rate of endemism for the Philippines has risen and likely will continue to rise.…
