I agree with you that Andrea Jung was very influential and charismatic. She took big steps to encourage and empower women to join the business and set foot into management. (Nahavandi, p. 209)One of the most powerful things that a leader can do is to empower their followers to achieve nothing but greatness without being intimidated by other individual’s success. Although, I wish she would have prevailed during the hard economic times and made the necessary adjustments to prevent the down fall of AVON. Maybe her primary role in the business universe was to influence us all to start treating women equally and to put more women in management positions in Fortune 500 companies.
