Getting a Little Help from Ancient Astronauts The first thing that comes to mind when the word “UFO” is mentioned is more than likely “hoax.” Philip J. Klass, a noted UFO investigator and skeptic would agree. Klass passed away in 2005, but he lived in a time where UFO sightings were popular; a time that allowed technology to trick the naked eye, and a time that has no solid evidence that UFO’s are real. Klass was investigating the wrong time period. If he would have visited ancient places like the Great Pyramid or looked at the medieval map known as the Piri Reis Map, he might have had a change of heart. Maybe if he could have traveled the world to investigate all of the B.C. era ancient art and iconography, which most is available to the general public in museums, he would have changed his mind. In the interview “UFO Sightings Are Hoaxes and Mistakes” by Gary Posner, Klass responds to questions from critics who challenge his passion for debunking these UFO reports. He states that “in thirty-three years of investigating reports of UFOs, he has yet to find any credible evidence that extraterrestrials have visited Earth” (Posner). Let’s focus on what we call Ancient Astronauts. Ancient Astronauts are Extraterrestrials who visited earth in the B.C. era or soon after, something that Klass never investigated. Ancient Astronauts and UFO sightings are real and have been documented since the B.C. era. First, the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, maybe the greatest piece of evidence that Ancient Astronauts have visited Earth. Ray Alex, author of “Egyptian Archaeologist Admits that the Pyramids Contain UFO Technology”, has found in ancient hieroglyphs where the Egyptians state “the pyramids where built in an age when "sky gods" came down to Earth and raised the land from mud and water. These “sky gods” flew through the air in flying "boats" that brought laws and wisdom to man through a royal line of pharaohs” (Alex). The

The Egyptian pyramids are landmarks because they exhibit the astounding architectural feats and showcase the culture of the time. Built with primitive tools by today's standards, they used no pulleys or mortar, just large blocks of rock that perfectly fit. They were built to to guide pharoahs to the afterlife and contained everything that would make the journey more comfortable for them, from simple objects such as jewelry and dishware to people and animals the pharoah loved. They weren't just massive tombs, they were time capsules chock full of information. Within the chambers, there were frescos of everyday life and with the objects housed there we learned how they preserved their pharoah and how they lived.…

A National Geographic survey states that 77% of the population believe that aliens exist and could have visited the Earth. Over “80 million Americans, or 36% of the population, believe UFOs are real” (Live Science Staff). 68 years ago the nation was captivated by supposed reports that a UFO crashed on a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico. This subject has always been debated between the military and the public for years. In 1997 “the military released a 231 page report [hoping that all the rumors would stop]” (Peyser 1). Yet, the public still doubt the truth of the military report about the Roswell incident because there were several different stories that happened. I believe that a UFO could have landed, but that will never know the truth given…

The harsh desert winds, the burning Egyptian sun, and a couple thousands of years has physically decreased the Great Pyramid of Giza’s height by about thirty-one feet, but has had no effect on its strength and power as a symbol of the wondrous society of ancient Egypt. All of the Egyptians’ pyramids display the hierarchy, social values, their education, and their religious beliefs. Thus, the symbolic pyramids that ancient Egypt constructed, specifically the Great Pyramid of Giza, hold intricate explanations about the society, its politics and its religion that would otherwise remain unknown.…

Imagine, one afternoon you are in your backyard enjoying the sun when suddenly you look up at the sky and there is a huge disk-like shaped object floating above your whole town. For centuries, scientists, ecologists, politicians, and common people around the world have discussed the subject of the unidentified flying objects (UFO). It seems paradoxical, but the main question of their discussion concerns existence or non-existence of the UFO itself. The most popular and appealing notion about the UFO is the extraterrestrial hypothesis. The hypothesis implies that there are intelligent beings from other planets visiting Earth, aliens. Although some people…

Ancient beliefs were largely formed around astrology. Egyptians were polytheistic and believed that the stars were their many gods. The gods were believed to be controlling the natural world from the spiritual world. The Egyptians believed that the gods controlled the river’s annual flood. Because of the annual floods there was a food surplus which allowed specialization of labor. This allowed them to prosper at such a fast rate that they invented hieroglyphics and pyramids.(doesn’t make sense, clear up) In the Egyptian culture the people were led to believe that the pyramids they built as a tomb for their pharaoh would save them. If the pharaoh’s body lay in the tomb the gods would accept him into heaven along with his people. The building of the pyramid was made possible by geography.(how can you prove this, this is opinion not fact) The Egyptians would not have progressed so rapidly without their placement along the Nile…

"The dominant early settlers on the Italian peninsula were a non-Indo-European-speaking people known as the Etruscans" (Coffin & Stacey 168). The Etruscans were among three groups of people from the East that entered Italy as colonists and later as rulers of various segments of the peninsula. The Etruscans came into Italy about 800 B.C.E. following the Adriatic Sea. Although our knowledge of the Etruscans is severely limited by the fact that their language, although written in a Greek alphabet, has not been fully deciphered, traces remain that they left significant evidence of their effect and influence on Rome. The Etruscans left evidence throughout nearly every aspect of Rome including their traditions and culture. Without their influence, the Rome that everyone in the world knows today might have been very different.…

In 1947, unidentifiable debris were discovered in a sheep pasture in Roswell, New Mexico. The local Air Force simply said that it was just a weather balloon. But, many other people disagreed, and thought it was remains from and extraterrestrial flying saucer. July 8, of that year, "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region," was the top story in the Roswell Daily Record. The next day, an Air Force official staed that the "flying saucer" was merely just a weather balloon. But, anyone who saw the news article and pictures of the debris, it's clear that whatever it was, it was not a weather balloon, for sure. Even now, people still think that aliens made the Pyramids. The Egyptians were far ahead of their time. They were able to drag hundreds, if not thousands, of several ton limestone blocks all on the backs of men. They figured out how to roll logs underneath the limestone blocks so they would move better. They learned that if a rectangular wooden structure had too much weight on top, the walls would cave. So, they used limestone, and they made the base of the structure thicker than the top. They knew how to make things work through trial and error. They didn't need any aliens to help them! The Egyptians were and still are, an intelligent people. They did not give up when they had their minds set on a colossal monument to celebrate their leaders. The Egyptians wanted everyone to know the power they held. Even now, 4,575 years later, we still see the feats of the…

Ancient China was a country that was impacted by its geographic features. Ancient China was a very large country. China’s physical features were very greatly impacted by the contact of other cultures. Some of ancient China’s physical features that prevented them from having contact with other cultures were its large mountains and deserts. This had a good and a bad side to it. The good side was that China was well protected from intruders. However, the bad side to this was that it was it more difficult for China to have contact with other cultures. (Document 2). This also led to China becoming very ethnocentric. Yu was a very important figure in ancient China. Ancient China was in need for water since it was surrounded by deserts and mountains. The solution Yu had to this problem was that he opened passages for the streams throughout the provinces and deepened the existing channels and canals as well as directing them to the streams (Document 4).…
