Analytical Essay: The Adventures Of Cassandra
Cassandra a girl living in a Massachusetts country club town finds herself loving a boy for 1925. Cassandra must choose between her own heart and the future of the not just her but possibly the rest of the world. She must decide whether to save the boy Lawrence Foster from his death or risk the fate of losing him and possibly others. Once Cassandra left her world and entered the world of 1925 and she lost her friend Travis because of it. Lawrence was supposed to meet with Travis great-grandfather for a car ride but since he went to see Cassandra he skipped the car ride and travis’ great-grandfaher and so did the whole family because Lawrence wasn't there to save him from the crash. It briefly explained it though the book but it's still blurry and unclear. Ned raised Lawrence because his father was too busy with business. Uncle Ned has a hidden side to him... Lawrence's arranged marriage/ fiance Fay Cartelli was part of the mafia but she wasn’t her father was involved in it and that's the reason Lawrence was going to marry fay; for the money and the connections. By Ned’s other purpose to sell his nephew away was because of his deep debt to the mafia leaders. Ned gambled and sent himself into debt not being able to pay for losing. Ned was going to sell Lawrence to the mafia (the Cartelli’s) instead of paying the debt and Lawrence would then work as a lawyer for Fay’s mafia father. “Your uncle promised you to the Cartelli family. He told them you’d work as a lawyer for my father to help make sure his tracks are covered up on the legal end.” When Cassandra went to save Lawrence because she figured out how to save lawrence she came in the wrong moment. She arrived when Ned was attacking Lawrence and Ned noticed who she was and went to attack her blaming Cassandra for messing up his plan. Lawrence then stood up for her but he still went for Cassandra. She carried around pepper spray and sprayed him long enough for day to get people to the scene. CAssandra saved Lawrence but as I read on I wondered if this would save Lawrence or if she would need to do something
