Analysis: The Tales Tails Of Tickety Boo
The Tales Tails of Tickety Boo

(THE ANIMAL GAME)

Hello, my friend, how do you do?
What’s your name, mine’s Tickety Boo.
I know a game where we guess and see,
Do you want to play with me?

I like to paw my hooves in the air
And shake my beautiful mane of hair
I like to whinny and gallop around
Jumping over fences high off the ground

Who am I? ****************

On my forehead, a wondrous horn can appear
It sparkles like diamonds, shiny and clear
My fur and mane are white as snow
I’m a magical creature, don’t you know

Who am I? ************

Sometimes I curl up in the sun
Lick my paws and purr for fun
I like to scamper all over the house
And meow and meow when I find a mouse.

Who am I?

******************

My neck is long and I nibble on leaves
The greenest ones on the tallest trees
My feet have hooves and my skin has spots
My home is often very hot.

Who am I?

********************

My mane is huge and my fur is tan
I roared at the animals and off they ran
I sleep all day and play at night
I’m king of the jungle, just watch my bite.

Who am I?

*******************

I’m mostly gray and rather small
I have a long tail with no fur on it at all
I love to nibble ‘til I’ve had my fill
Scampering about the kitchen when the house is still

Who am I?

I live in a cave and am rather small,
I can’t see well but that doesn’t bother me at all
I sleep all day and hang upside down
I eat bugs at night while I fly around.

Who am I?

I’m green and slimy with two big jaws
I have a long, long tail and very sharp claws,
I like to swim in a swamp and lie in the sun
Sleeping on a rock until the day is done

Who am I?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I’m a bird whose known to be mostly pink
With long skinny legs and a blackish beak
My friends and I are birds of a feather
And birds of a feather like to flock

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I’m cuddly and cute and live high in the trees
And most of the day I spend eating the leaves
The tree is my home and for me it’s a treat
Its green leaves are the only things I eat.

Who am I?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I walk sideways in the sand by the deep blue sea
Away from the waves which keep chasing me
I hide in a shell, which is also my home
So I can take it with me wherever I roam

Who am I?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have many long arms, when you count them you’ll know
They help me swim fast, deep in the ocean below
I can grow very large which is better, I think
Since I can still hide when I squirt my black

I am a Tundra Wolf. The Tundra wolf has good instincts in the wild which I possess in many different situations I encounter. For example, I do have a gut feeling whether if the person is to be trusted or not. Also when I encounter hard decisions, I always go with my gut feeling and never look back because I know my instinct will always lead me in the right direction. Also, the Tundra Wolf’s coat can be a majestic black color that also relates to my thick black hair. My hair is a deep brown that looks black in certain light and is thick like the Tundra’s undercoat. In addition, I am a cautious person when it comes to meeting new people because I never trust anyone at first sight. Similarly, the Tundra wolf…

Nassim Nicholas Taleb’s The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable discusses extreme events that everyone believes to be “highly improbable” and to be widely unexpected. Taleb calls the extreme events “Black Swans.” Taleb believes that the unexpected (“Black Swan”) is the key to understanding not only financial markets, but also history itself. When Wall Street suffered its worst single-day in modern history in 1987 Taleb had this “ah hah” moment. He then realized that “Black Swans” could happen at any time and were unpredictable. Taleb becomes aware that he lived through a “black swan” when his country, Lebanon, was thrown into the civil war of 1975. 9/11, the rise of Google, and the sinking of the Titanic are all examples of Black Swans that Taleb uses to prove his point. He states “This awareness turned my Black Swan from a problem of lucky or unlucky people in business into a problem of knowledge and science (18). Taleb believes “that not only are some scientific results useless in real life, because they underestimate the impact of the highly improbable (or lead us to ignore it), but that many of them may be actually creating Black…

In the movie, The Lord of the Flies, man is expressed as neither good nor bad. Jack’s tribe represents how man can be seen as evil; they were ruthless and didn’t care about anything. Jack told his tribe to do horrible things like kill Simon because they thought he was the beast in the dark, and one boy even killed Piggy too and they all tried to kill Ralph at the end. They were all bad things and bad people who did them. But, Ralph and his tribe were good. They made sure everyone was fed and safe and cared about being rescued unlike Jack. Man can either be good or bad, they’re not all naturally good or bad. This movie demonstrates John Locke’s idea of a “state of nature” (or no government) because they technically didn’t have a government. It was chaotic and there was fighting and people dying. It also demonstrates his idea of “natural rights” (life, liberty, and property) because life would of been easier on the island if they followed them. They didn’t respect the right to life, because Jack’s tribe killed people, and they didn’t respect property either because they snuck up on Ralph and Piggy and…

In the article, This Week in Fiction: Kamel Daoud, the interviewer, Deborah Treisman, asks the author (Kamel Daoud) a few questions about his novel—The Meursault Investigation. In the opening of this article, Treisman asks Daoud if his novel was written to give the exact accounts of what really happened to his brother Musa and Meursault. Daoud explains that he wanted to find his, “own path through Camas,” that he merely wanted to examine Albert Camus’ work a bit more, which could help him figure out who he (Daoud) is and how he fits into the world. Treisman also asked when Daoud first read The Stranger, how he felt about it, and even asked him how he felt about the way that Harun and his mother handled themselves (the other becoming obsessed with Harun who had to wear his brothers clothing and stay in his mother’s sight and how Harun becomes confused and shocked after…

I pick the picture “The Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker Hill” because it represents the era the story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” took place in. The plot of Sleepy Hollow revolves around the legend of the Headless Horseman most of the time mainly for suspense and action during Ichabod's encounter and Brom’s exciting tales. The old tale is about a Hessian who has his head carried away by a cannonball during a war (which is most likely the american revolutionary war, since this is what the author Washington Irving has used for the setting for his story). This may seem like it's not relatable to the death of General Warren but in some ways it can be. For example, General Warren was remembered as a Major General in the military…

In both texts, “The Jew of Malta” by Christopher Marlowe and “The Shipman’s Tale” by Geoffrey Chaucer women are presented as accessory characters who are at the disposal of the male protagonist. To a medieval reader the restrictions women were succumbed to when it came to participating in political, economical, and social affairs may have been normal, yet to a contemporary reader, their treatment and participation in literature is essential to understanding their place. While the role of a woman is limited, it is important to closely analyze if they are described as traditional and obedient or are they defiant. The representation of women in both the works of Marlowe and Chaucer have been recognized by scholars as positive. Ann Beskin argues…

    1. This technology of the telegram(newspaper) is an invention when the story was written. It takes place in the story mentioning the list of people who where killed in the railroad disaster. Louise’s husband’s friend, Richards, saw Louise’s husband, Brently on the list of those killed. Without this technology, I do not think the story could be possible. Richards learned about the train accident thought the telegram as well as Josephine. Louise would not die if she would never knew about the train accident. Specially because her husband was never in the train. Today’s Technology is very advanced thought newspaper, television news, and radio news. I do not think this story can still be possible because today’s technology do not make mistakes. They…

The literary work being discussed is The Story of an Hour. It was written by Kate Chopin in 1894. Mrs. Mallard is portrayed as a typical nineteenth-century wife, one who is weak and submissive who changes into an independent, confident person who believes herself freed by her husband 's death. This story deals with the theme of a woman’s loss of identity in marriage and how this affects the individual’s personality and self-esteem.…

After reading The Story of the Hour, I was surprised by the ending and the announcement of Mrs. Mallard’s death. The story painted Mrs. Mallard in a harsh way but after some thinking I came to the conclusion that Mrs. Mallard although sad that her husband was gone she was going to keep living her life and enjoy the time she had left in the world.…
