In the graphic novel Blankets by Craig Thompson multiple aspects are used together to emphasize different moods in the book. Two examples of this are panal usage and action to action panel transitions. Action to action panel transition is a type of transition that shows a subject’s progression of only an action. Multiple panels showing the progression of an action would be considered an action to action transition. A panel is a visual representation of parts of a story in a graphic novel. Depending on the mood of the story, the panels can take different forms. Things like Size, shape, style, outline and placement can all affect the mood.
