Amazing Adventures of Spear and Shadow Chapter One: Discovery
“Done!" cried a young wolf named Spear, as he lifted a small dagger. He heard the leader, Rough, calling him. He hurried outside his tent, and he said, “Yes, Sir?” “Last night, I saw a young wolf steal our food. You must go to explore the woods. If you find anything, report back here. Understand?” said Rough. “Yes, Sir,” said Spear. Spear went out into the woods alone. He heard many strange sounds. He heard CRACK, CRACK, CRACK! and SQUEE, SQUEE, SQUEE! He then heard something really scary. TEN LONG SHREIKS! “AHHHH!!!” he screamed. He ran into a bush, and what he saw surprised him.

They found an old hideout behind a HUGE tree. It was kind of dusty and was not really full of cobwebs. It had six bedrooms. They had numbers on them. The inside of number one was green. Number two was purple. Number three was blue. Number four was red. Number five was brown. And number six was yellow. They all ripped their tents and made them blankets. One night, Spear found a note. It said: The wolves that lived this house called The Skulls, left a treasure far and cold. Attacked by lost souls, they Died before hauled and left a treasure far and cold. Close to this house, a map you’ll see, in the white lighthouse, cold and dreary. “No it won’t! Because we don’t have it!” yelled Shadow. “If they don’t have it, YOU’LL DIE!” yelled Bones. “Hey Skulls! You want the power orb, come and get it!” yelled Spear, as he lifted a red ball. “Get it!” yelled Bones. When they got it, IT EXPLODED!!! Shadow’s chain broke as soon as it exploded. “AHHH!!!” screamed Shadow. Spear leaped and caught Shadow. “My hero!” yelled Shadow. She kissed Spear on the cheek. They ran out. Shadow fired an arrow at Cora’s cage lock. It opened. They ran to the hideout. They put it on lockdown with a secret code. It was #135790. Spear chose room one, Shadow room two, and Cora room four. They slowly unpacked, got their weapons ready, and

Usually comic book movies have a clock-full of issues, however extrusive amidst the system is orchestrating of an action sequence. Let’s cross-examine superhero based movies. As a motion picture aficionado, can we reminisce an action sequence in the comic book genre that we can reckon as one of the highly regarded action scenes of all time? If you are finding difficulty to bring up one, by virtue of strictly speaking there are none. These days filmmakers do not fabricate an action scene anymore, all they actualized is eradicated, and that synthesizes the showdown furthermore a clash of egos than a desperate attempt to save people’s life. A first-rate action sequence will always have purpose, for example the affray between Indiana Jones and the Nazi’s armada in effort to repossess the Ark of the Covenant, which have been extradited to Germany in “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, or the determinative stand of Ripley and the marines in “Aliens “or in the recent past the Wildwood chase in “Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadow”. None of these action scenes level an entire city or shown horde of dispensable alien army (okay, maybe Aliens) yet, they come to pass infinitely more mind blowing than any action scene ever conferred on any of the comic book movies before, why due to they are well staged and have purpose.…

The first hour and a half we listened to the birds and watched the squirrels eat away at the trail mix. The sight of this made me hungry so I got out my peanut butter sandwich and red Gatorade. Around 4:45, I was lightly sleeping when I heard a loud snap from a few hundred yards away. My mind began racing as I tried to figure out what could have made that noise. Every couple minutes I could hear another branch break and it was getting closer and closer. An hour later the noise had moved from a few hundred yards in front of us to less than 30 yards behind us. “Don’t move” my dad whispered. We could hear leaves crunching under the feet of whatever was behind us. The noise continued onto the path that leads right to the bait pile. I slowly turned my head to the left and saw a 325-pound bear with a furry, black coat. Instantly my breathing became heavy, my whole body was shaking and my heart was about to pound out of my chest. I grabbed by gun and raised it to my shoulder, almost dropping it from all my shaking. I rested my Remington pump shotgun on the chilly aluminum edge of the Rivers Edge tree stand. “Click” I took the safety off of my shotgun and looked down the iron sights. The bear was licking the frosting on top of the white cedar log. BANG! The bear spun and took off into the thick green underbrush and fell after 20 yards. I couldn’t believe it; I was so excited. My dad and I waited 30 minutes and then we got down from the tree stand and followed the trail to where the bear was laying. I reached down and touched the smooth, plush coat of the bear, thanking it for the meat it would provide for my…

When he got a little closer, he saw a very large animal who was covering an abnormally large amount of ground in a short amount of time. He describes the animal as to cover about fifteen to twenty feet in just two strides, while not running. The creature made absolutely no noticeable noise. He mentions what he saw was the creature standing seven to seven and a half feet tall and an estimated five hundred pounds in weight. He describes the creature as being muscular and covered with dark fur, with long arms and hunched over posture. The deer hunter states that the creature moved quickly down the hillside and was gone in just a few seconds. Like both of the above incidents, it happened in a wooded area which provides plenty of coverage for the…

Sara Fanellis illustration of the ‘Wolf’ shows a very franticly drawn wolf (resembling Ed Korens scratchy cartoon creatures) (Heller, S, 2001) on a bright yellow background. He has random lines of red and black in his fur coat alongside paper cut claws and red eyes with pasted on eyebrows. He is wearing odd shoes, one an orangey red, the other a very soft turquoise. The wolf is giving a pair of red glasses to what appears to be an old woman in a blue polka dotted dress.…

Suddenly as if out of nothingness appeared a red eyed beast at the top of the wretched, steep hill we were attempting to scale. The wolf approached us with her steaming breath and her head low to the ground as if she was ready for the pounce. If we had run she would have reacted with great violence, so we kept our bodies and expressions as lifeless as a china doll. Her eyes were glowing like a fire replenishing itself; the eyes of a burning demon. Her coat was as grey as the fog that surrounded us, the beast froze corpse still, silent and motionless. It was a struggle to see. We could just see that the beast was among us. The brute still had made no move and the deep fog was thickening. It came to the point were we were blind in that we could not see any thing but the dull greyness of the…

This is the first time since Middle School that I had seen the wolf. The window then shattered in my face, my attention was once again drawn to the wolf. He was outside of my house huffing and puffing attempting to blow down the house. It looked as though the wolf was running out of air. The wolf then fell on the ground completely winded. Both Petey and Rodger darted to the window to see why the shaking had stopped. They realized what had happened, and began jumping with joy. They said in…

Suddenly, his mouth opens and you see his teeth, like knife points. He tips his head back to let out a spine-tingling howl. You stay, frozen by his voice, yet still not afraid of the predator in front of you. The sound of thunder rings out and he yelps, falling to the ground. All is silent, even the wind. Crimson coats the stiff powder and you are in disbelief. Two men step from their hiding spots, looking like abominable snowmen in their white, puffy suits. One nods to you, as if he is some kind of savior, but you ponder to yourself, questioning: which creature really needs a savior?…
