Analysis Of Control Yourself By Linda Geddes
Linda Geddes mentioned in her “Control Yourself” article two methods that I plan to start utilizing to help me control emotions during stressful situations, which are the “reappraisal” approach and practicing mindfulness. Under the reappraisal approach, I would need to practice my ability to look at the situation from the other person’s point of view, or as the article states, “put myself in their shoes” (2017). I then need to make a point to understand how my reaction would impact others, which is basically practicing mindfulness. Also, while at home, I’ve started applying, what I call, the “breathe and count” method. Just as the name implies, I simply take the moment to breathe and count to 10, which allows me to somewhat calm down before

    Self-management can be defined as the taking of responsibility for one’s own behavior and well-being. Self-management is my worst subject of all and it will be the first I attack out of the four quadrants. In this section, I averaged a lower score of 3.0 making this section one of my weaknesses. Judging from the self-management portion, I calmly deal with stress, take calculated risks, and seek information in unusual ways. Concurring with the test, an example of my low self-management are shown when I have trouble managing my emotions.     In the essay China’s Biggest Gamble, Henry Blodget addresses the acceptance and priority from the people in the current government idealization. People from china worried more about the ability to produce money than freedom of expression. By speaking to business people he concluded for now money production is their priority. Their economy can succeed without democracy and freedom for now. It’s something citizen’s want in the future. The economy is a priority, an average person accept the situation as long as the government doesn’t mismanage their needs. Clearly for the economy to continue expanding and be as powerful, they need a more efficient system and less corruption. Need of improvement in current system were government relation is not essential for money production.
