Analysis Of Colin Kaepernick's 'Citizen Of The Year'
Do you think kneeling during the National Anthem is acceptable in today's society? Colin Kaepernick, first kneeling and now sitting shows disrespect for our flag and to our military men and women. He is being awarded something that veterans feel dishonored about. Although Colin Kaepernick may be a good player in football, he should not be “Citizen of the Year” because he is being disrespectful, negatively impacting the professionalism of football, and political side for kneeling during the National Anthem. Many people do think kneeling, sitting, or staying in the locker room is disrespectful. Disrespectful means one shows or expresses one’s disrespect. If he would have just said what he did about the police and things then this might not be such a big deal. When people do things on national television they have to know that whatever they do will be criticized and judged. Colin Kaepernick should have known something like this would cause so many people to bash him and not think of him as being a good person anymore. Citizen of the Year award should be given to someone who truly deserved it. There have been so many nice things done by other people that most people would agree with what they did that they should have won the award. People saving other people during the shootings around the world. People rescuing people and their belongings during all the recent hurricanes and other weather related happenings. People going against the police is such a popular topic right now that many people think and believe the only reason Kaepernick got that award awarded to him is because of what he said why he did what he did. So all in all if a person believes he did something great then that's that person's own feelings. And if someone does not believe what he did was acceptable then that is still their own feelings. No matter the problem, no matter the situation, and no matter the problem, everyone in this world needs to all come together on things and not get offended so
