The book I am reviewing is called Matched by Ally Condie. Matched is a book which has an exiting futuristic theme. Matched is a book about a courageous, open minded girl named Cassia, a girl with two parents, a brother, and two best friends Xander and Em. In the book Cassia battles with society and not any type of society a new society. The society chooses everyone’s life they have chose that everyone should die at 80; they chose that there should only be 100 songs. Poetries, paintings ECT. In their city, the society chooses everyone’s job and food too, society chooses who gets marries to who at a special event called a match banquet. When Cassia finds out she has been matched with someone really close she starts developing strong feeling about him. But as soon as she sees another face pop up on her match’s microcard she starts having second thoughts. See who Cassia gets “matched” within this epic, love triangle, and risk taking story. Matched is a beautiful love triangle I would give 9 out of 10 to. I think the concept of the book was very unique and eye catching.…

People struggle to deal with change as it is scary and presents its own challenges to adapt to new circumstances; however, it is change that often sparks important growth. In the poem “A Story” by Li-Young Lee, the author uses a third person point of view, specific dialogue, and a creative structure in order to illustrate the growth in the relationship between the father and son and the complexities that are anticipated to arise as things change.…

    1. My favorite quote from the first section of Matched is actually written on the first page of the novel and it is as follows. “Now that I've found the way to fly, which direction should I go into the night?…The black behind me doesn't worry me; neither do the stars ahead. (Condie 1)” The idea of not being haunted by the past or daunted by the future draws me to these words. It preaches that the past is the past and you can’t change that, while the future is unpredictable.…

    The Outsider Analysis

Hinton has likely left the word “outsider” out of the book to let readers pander to the meaning of that word after completing the novel. To me, an outsider is Someone who is different from the crowd, but not in a favorable way. for example, an unintelligent person would be excluded from most social groups due to their negative trait that a majority of others do not have, this, of course, does not necessarily mean that many people are intelligent, rather, that most are not unintelligent.…

Ultimately giving the impact that individuals judge another to their entirely based off of a single idea or acknowledgment.
