My Crazy Aunt Bebe

The weirdest person in my family is my Aunt Bebe. Bebe is very family oriented and will protect her family no matter what the situation. Her complexion is dark brown like coco puff cereal, mixed with a slight ashy tint. Her hair is black, accented with grey and the texture kind of feels like a wool Navy Pea coat. She's attempting to get dreadlocks in her hair, but she never has the money to keep it up, so her hair is always half twisted and half out. Her favorite outfit is her farmer cover alls which she wears to almost every family event. Bebe is very educated, she received her Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia. She worked as parole officer for a couple of years, until her addiction to drugs caused her to lose her job. Now she just works what ever job she can get and keep before she gets frustrated with her supervisor. Then she curses them out, quits, and starts the process all over again.

BeBe has several funny quirks. She always makes these real annoying noises that sound like she's humming, sucking her teeth and groaning at the same time. She is very out going, and at parties or any event she's always the second person to get up and dance, right after my grandmother. She is very loud and obnoxious, and she is always in other people's business. Bebe is a very clingy person, and she craves attention. When she's sick she expects to be waited on hand and foot. With all her annoying mannerisms, she still has a very good heart, and she would give you her last dime. Al in all, she is just my crazy aunt

I lived in 3 different houses till I moved out of my parents’ house. Every time we moved the house got bigger with a new addition to the family. Our last house was a 7 bedroom, 2-story house. I have 3 other siblings, Jodi who is 3 years younger, Jane who is 6 years younger and Jim who is 15 years younger than me and 2 dogs. I always thought both of my sisters were more talented, more pretty and smarter than I was and I never got to know my brother very well till later in life because of our large age difference. Both of my parents got a college education, and for women in that time that was rare. My dad, James Torrey worked in an insurance company, and he always felt distant to me. My mom, Hetty Bixby Torrey never really had a job but she joined a lots of committees and participated in volunteer work. Don’t forget she had to take care of me and my siblings too.…

The main character Adelina Amouteru and I are similar in several ways. Our appearances are not the same however, because half her face is ruined and her left eye is missing from a plague. She also has darker skin, whereas I am as pale as a ghost. She also has silverish whitish hair, and I have brown mixed with other random colors. She would be considered the black sheep of her family, and I am of mine as well. Although in her case, hers is much worse than mine because my family didn’t try to sell or kill me. Mine just thinks I’m strange. She also feeds off of anger and fear, which as strange as it sounds, I can relate to that as well. I can deal with angry or scared people better than I can with sad people. It makes no sense and is kind of…

The following movies that I decide on were Straight Outta Compton “NWA” Directed by F. Gary Gray and My Cousin Vinny Directed by Jonathan Lynn. Both films have their differences as NWA faces police harassment in 1987, and later caught the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to put a stop to discriminating local police officer. But in NWA reasons were to inform the people about police brutality and racial profiling, and in its lyrics quickly said consider the use of violence against police. While My Uncle Vinny film displays a good case of the relationship between language and context in verbal communication.…

Carroll writes about Sister Antonia’s extraordinary drive to establish the College of St. Katherine in her leadership role as Dean and later as President. She denotes the travel both locally and internationally the women had embarked on in order to further their educational degrees. Along the same lines, Ryan’s depicts Sister Antonia’s dreams for the school’s potential for striving for excellence in the Catholic school system and its goals for the future. Ryan also makes mention of how these women broadened their educational pursuits by traveling near and far to other countries.…

Female comic creators made a great impact on the comic industry although they are not so many. They gained recognition since they have beginning to create comic novels. Women creators have worked an every genre from superheroes to romance, westerns to war, crime to horror. Their subjects of discussion have expanded as women's role in society has changed. They are on pressure in the society because the model of women is determined by the society and they have to write like that. I never spoke to her, but just by listening to her speak and seeing her smile at everybody gave me insight about her personality. Today, Bess has short hair and wears contacts, but she still has one of the most optimistic personalities. Ever since we became best friends two years ago, Bess Neiblum has filled a spot on my board of directors because of the advice she gives. I admire that Bess does not let numbers define her. She tells all of her friends that grades, rank, weight and any other numbers that society labels us with is not something people should constantly stress over. For example, when our close friend dealt with weight-related issues, Bess told her “do not worry about your weight, because it’s just the force of gravity between you and the earth.” Bess remains on my board of directors because of her constant positivity and optimistic personality. Especially during stressful times, Bess has always been someone that I can rely on for support. She knows that she is on my board of directors because I tell her almost every day that she means a lot to me. Including Bess, I have another younger friend who helps me achieve my…

    A Place Analysis

I was raised in a small, but familiar town on the outskirts of Tallahassee known as Havana. A place where everyone practically knows everyone that lives there. My hometown upholds a sense of charm and southern hospitably in the atmosphere, with the many boutiques and restaurants for one to enjoy. However, I feel that it is a place where more mature individuals could appreciate (like adults), due to its historical nature. To be honest, other than going to school with my friends, as a child there really wasn’t much for me to do when the summer rolled in. Especially, since I was the only girl in a house with two brothers. In fact, majority of my summer vacation was spent at home, with my annoying brothers, “The Terrible Two”. Well, at least that’s what I called them, because they were always finding a way to make fun out of torturing me. From being hit by water balloons unexpectedly, to waking with burning lips from the hot sauce they put on them while I was sleeping, pretty much describes the “summer” moments of my childhood; at least the ones spent with brothers. Until, I suddenly had an epiphany, and begged my mother to let me stay with my grandmother while I school wasn’t in; or at least until she made it home from work. Of course she asked why; although she knew how much my brothers would tease me. She just told me it was there way of showing “brotherly” love, but she understood how annoying it could be, because she too was raised among all boys; in which worked out in my favor, because I no longer spent the summer’s home. She accepted my plea to be free from the “Terrible Two,” and Grandma’s house was to be my new location for summer vacation, which I enjoyed every bit of.…

One of the stories about me is when I was little I liked to get into my mom’s cupboards. I would sneak into the kitchen and open the cupboards, and then I would take all of the pots and pans out. I also beat them together making loud noises that gave my mom migraines. My sister treated me like I was a baby doll. She would always want to hold me or feed me, the only thing she didn’t want to do was to change my diapers. There were a number of times when I was about two she would tease me by taking the one toy that I was playing with and throwing it across the room. Before I had a chance to get to it again she would grab it and throw it to the other side of the room. Often times, when my dad was home from work he would take a blanket and throw it over me and play peekaboo with me. Once when my mom put into my crib to take a nap and she left to take a nap herself, as soon as she laid down I was back in her room and laid down by her and fell asleep. I was crazy, and strong-headed, also I was quite annoying.…
