Descriptive Essay
1) Definition:

Descriptive essay is one of the many types of writing styles that provides a detailed description for a particular person, place, memory, experience or object. Descriptive essay is purposely created so readers can readily imagine its particular subject matter. It focuses on the five senses which are sight, smell, touch, sound and taste.

2) Example:


Everyone has a comfortable place to escape to for relaxation. They go there when they need to be alone, away from people’s disturbane. My best place is nature in spring, the king of seasons as people call it. The spring time relaxes me like no exact place could do. I really enjoy the charming beauty of nature in this beautiful season.

When spring comes I prefer to spend some hours outside home, either in the fields or mountains. I love sitting in the grass and listening to the nature sounds around me. One of the sounds I tune to first is that of the birds singing and chirping away as if they are creating a song. After sitting for a few minutes, I can hear the light breeze coming down through the trees, rustling their leaves. Besides those two things I hear, it is a peaceful quietness that you can’t get in a city or town. That is why I love nature, especially in the spring.

When I look around me, in the spring time when I am outside somewhere, I see beautiful bright clear things. For example, the tall green grass and the leaves on the trees sway breeeze. Then I see bright or pastel flowers around me. Swarms of bees rush at them to take their essence to make honey of it. I also see butterflies of various colours fly here and there about the flowers. Most days are bright and sunny. The sky is a beautiful landscape, blue with little clouds, if any in it. If I am in the forest, I see big tall trees all aound me.

The feeling of spring all around me is friendly to me. The weather is so fine, neither too cold nor too hot, and the fresh breeze blows gently...
