He thought of his time in Afghanistan as very peaceful and quiet.…
Afghanistan’s troubled times resulted in the Taliban’s takeover and the suffering of the Afghan people which would challenge the people to face great adversity in the time to come. The theme “Created in the Image of God” is saying that everyone is special and no human life should be wasted because God loves us all equally and has a plan for everyone. This theme also explains that everyone is created differently for a reason. The song Don’t Laugh at Me is about the people in the world that are made fun of and Mark Wills is saying that in God’s were all the same. The song Don’t Laugh at Me represents the theme “Created in the image of God” because Mark Wills is explaining that God made us all different for a reason and he loves us all equally and we shouldn’t be treated different because we have braces or because we are blind; we should all be treated the same.…
The book, The Terrorist’s Son, written by Zak Ebrahim, made me feel bad for Z’s family because their life is also ruined because of their father’s actions. However, I grew up seeing the horrific terrorist scenes on the news and in movies that make me question Z’s family. Is this book just one unique story, or do all families not know of the terroristic plan and do all people in this situation chose a different path?…
Everyone who reads the Kite Runner will stir up empathy inside them for the Hazaras, the reason is lying in the accurate representation of racial devaluation. In august of 1998 Taliban forces killed roughly 8000 Hazara men, women and children in one city. Mass murders like that were not happening before the Taliban took over Afghanistan, but the life of a Hazara was still far from easy. The relationship between pre-Taliban rule and during is the fact that large groups of people saw Hazaras as less than human. However 1996 the Taliban began to express their beliefs more than they had ever done before brutally killing thousands of Hazaras, and forcing them into miserable lives.…
Instincts are Nature's way of revealing the true self to the world around us, and to ourselves. In The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Amir's reaction to his best friend's violation reveals that he is both selfish and disloyal. By not intervening on the rape, Amir's instincts expose his flaws and traumatize him for the rest of his life.…

During the late 70s early 80s there was a strong disagreement between races in Afghanistan. In particular the Pashtun and the Hazarah. Two forms of the same religion but with only 1 difference. The Pashtun were higher up in the community than the Hazarah. The Pashtun were considered clean and fit to rule because they were primarily of pure descent unlike the Hazarah (Pashtun encyclopedia Britannica page 2). The Hazarah were looked down upon because they are usually of mixed families and were considered below the Pashtun (joshuaproject.net page 1-3).…
