An Analysis Of Odysseus In Homer's Odyssey '
Aeolus/ Island of the laestrygonians.

Odysseus and his crew sailed nine days and nine nights. Until they reached aeolus were they soon gain aid from the wind god auelus that promised to lift his sails to guide him home. Aeolus did as he promised and guided him home but gave him a sack of wind. As Odysseus sailed days and nights to reach home he finally saw Ithica the land he and his crew have yearning to reach since the day they left their home. As Odysseus went to bed the men became greedy and decided to open the bag and a huge wind let out blowing the ship all the way back to Ithaca. Odysseus returned begging if he could receive his help again but Aeolus now knowing he is cursed told him no. Odysseus sailed away from the island in

    I believe that Odysseus fits the stereotype when it comes to following the man box. I say this because he does cry but he also doesn’t back down from a challenge. Odysseus is weeping on the island of Ogygia and showing his emotions. The book picks up when they “found him there on the the head land, sitting still, weeping, his eyes never dry.”(Book 5 line 167) This quote shows that he is not listening to the ingredients that are in the man box, which is to never cry and express his emotions.
