American Workforce Citizenship
The City of Los Angeles is working together with the New American Workforce to work with businesses to assist their eligible employees with the Citizenship process. The American Workforce offers information and application workshops as well as civics instruction in order to pass the naturalization test, all at the job site. This service is available for city employees and their families.

The New American Workforce facilitates citizenship assistance through a two-step process. The Information Workshops provides an introduction to the citizenship process and the Application Workshops gives one-on-one assistance to further determine eligibility and complete the application. This is offered on the worksite and often during employee breaks

    There are many reasons why the naturalization process is both difficult, extensive and expensive. The fee for the application to start the process of naturalization costs $680 for adults. This is a significant setback since many immigrants today live below the poverty line and have no means to pay that amount.
