American Monologue
The night was pitch black. No stars to fill the sky. The only patch of light was the moon, but even it was shaded by the fast moving clouds.

Adrenaline was rushing. Blood was pumping. Legs were moving. The quick movements were drowned out by the large amounts of traffic below. Joel loved danger. Acting as if he was invulnerable to fear. He loved it, because he was mainly the one causing it. Robberies, illegal deals, assassinations, he had done it all. It didn't bother him. He had no reason to let it.

Crime was Joel's way of living. His teachers taught him techniques to prepare him for when the world would fall. Joel figured they had gone mad, but their lessons proved to be worth his time. How to get rid of evidence, best tools to use,

Plus, there was no need to run. he had reached his destination. He saw the old man vegetate in front of a television. The window Joel looked through was fogged, but it was a good size for him to break.

Joel leaped with little effort to the next roof. He took off his backpack and dug out a machine. A metallic and circular ball with a red button on the side. With one click, a semi-clear bubble formed around the old man's apartment. Joel had set his plan in motion.

Joel withdrew from his pocket a laser. He burned a hole through the glass, and proceeded to push the fragment. With quick reactions, Joel snatched the piece and laid it on the balcony. He positioned his body through the hole and slipped through with silence. Joel couldn't afford making noise. Stealth was a requirement, at least for him.

Joel analyzed the room. The closest door was far from the couch the man was seated on. Most of the floorboards were wooden and old. A commercial had just ended and the show came back on.

With a deep and silent breath, Joel slipped off his boots. He shuffled his way across the room with a knife and cloth at hand. Blood pumping, adrenaline rushing, legs moving. This was his moment. One shot he had to take. He had no intention of

After slipping the flat end of the short tool under the window, he began prying it open as silently as possible. It was a slow process, that needed finesse. Which is why Garett wriggled it around in search for the closing mechanism until he finally got the window open. Strapping the crowbar to his side so it wouldn’t get in the way, he silently slipped inside the new building, closing the window after him. It wouldn’t do that the owner came to investigate what was causing the draught and finding the window open. Or well, it wouldn’t really matter, as Garett by then would be long gone. Maybe it was a residue of some kind of manners he once…

Hi, my names Valerie and I was born November 1st, 2000 at 1:30pm in New Westminster, British Columbia. Although, after almost six years of living in BC my Mom decided it was best my sister, Jennifer, her and I all move to Calgary, Alberta. We lived there for about a year, then we moved to the Okanagan in British Columbia, then back down to Surrey. I’m thankful I never moved outside of Canada because living in Canada means freedom, plus everyone's so nice. Anyway, after all that moving you would think I attended multiple schools and I did. I attended Rosscarrock Elementary, Holly Elementary, M.V Beattie Elementary, Mary Jane Shannon Elementary and last but not least Guildford Park Secondary up until now. Seeing how I went to so many schools I got to experience different ways of…

I’m writing this letter to you to inform and update you on my life. However I first wanted to address what happened in Kabul. I'm sorry Hassan. I'm so sorry for everything. However I don't want to dwell on that too much, I just pray that you'll forgive me for all the wrong doing I have done. I know it won't help much, because you're so pure and kind, but Kamal was raped, and he died on the way out of Kabul. On to a more positive subject, life in America has been such an adjustment for Baba, but it has truly been amazing. I went to the ocean and it was even more marvelous than in the movies, oh how I wished you were with me. The ocean is so blue and beautiful, I think I might've even seen a whale. I completed high school and I'm now enrolled in college for creative writing.…
