Alpha Beta Kapa Research Paper
The motto for Alpha Beta Kapa is "Faciemus," which is Latin for "We Shall Build". “We shall build” to myself, means hard work, dedication, and going above the standards. Education in this instance is the building block that enables an individual to succeed and build. Education was something that was not of importance in my household when I was growing up. It was proven by the fact that I have four siblings and only two us graduated from high school. Now I am 35 years old and have two young daughters that look up to me. I have made no excuses when it comes to hard work and my education. Education is extremely important to myself now and for my future.

With a GPA of 3.90 I believe I meet the requirements to be accepted into the Alpha Beta Kapa.

During my 2 years involved in the National Honor Society I've come to know and love the four pillars of this organization. These four pillars include: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Considering that scholarship is characterized as a commitment to learning, this pillar has taught me many things about the importance of knowledge. Scholarship has made me realize that knowledge is power, diligence and effort if key, and that you should do your absolute best regardless of the outcome. The pillar of service has taught me how to give back to my community. I have learned through the pillar of service that you should reach out and help anyone without compensation or recognition.
