Aloysius's Mistake
In Tyné, men and woman were expected to remain a virgin until marriage and sex between same sex didn't count. Aloysius sat with his legs curled near his body, with an elbow on the low table. Aloysius' plans, whether they involved fun or not, didn't involve Ramses.
"My prince."
"And the demon that tempted him beyond sense?" The sounds seemed to have been teased out from the darkest shadows in the hall. Both Aloysius and Ramses turned their head. "Overstepping boundaries, aren't we?" Aloysius' light tone sounded almost flirtatious to Ramses' ears.

Aloysius said, "My pet doesn't like it?"

"And a unique penchant for questions with obvious answers," said Ramses.

Gaze steady on Ramses', Aloysius reached for the tray in the middle of the low table. Nimbly, he picked up a white confection. Ramses thought the prince was going to hold it out the way he'd seen some other occupants of the room did, but Aloysius brought the marchpane to his own mouth and then arched closer until Ramses felt the ermine trimming his robes.

When the tip pressed against Ramses' lips, Aloysius said, "Open your mouth, Ramses."

Ramses held himself completely still and Aloysius shifted. The marble-like skin of his neck glowed under the magic torches and Ramses heard the murmur of his pulse atop of the lewd noises from the stage. Blood. Ramses' lips parted and Aloysius pushed the morsel through with a quiet, "That's it. Take all of it in." Heat coiled from Aloysius' body, almost palpable as a few strands of golden hair fell to tickle against Ramses' hand.

Ramses thought he should be thinking about other things, but the weight against his tongue was sweet and one of the prettiest faces Ramses ever saw was within biting distance. The silver mask obscured the prince' porcelain features in a way Ramses suddenly hated and he wanted to push back the hair that fell across Aloysius'

However, their next meeting was sooner than expected, for they shared an unlikely moment during a masquerade in the late hours of the dazzling night. It was the periwinkle-pink, jewelled mask that caught Jefferson's eye at first. The stranger's gorgeous, gown contrasted well with her soft, almond coloured skin. Her chocolate eyes shimmered like the quartz tangled in the chandeliers above, beckoning him to come closer. Jefferson, who was wearing an over…

“Laideezzz and gentulmennnnnn. Step right this way and see the side show! An act never before seen in the scientific world! A mouse and a moron turn into geniuses before your very eyes!” Greater intelligence does not equal greater happiness. In the science fiction novel, Flowers for Algernon, Daniel Keyes takes us on an adventure through a world where the statement “Ignorance is bliss,” could not be more true. Charlie Gordon was born mentally retarded, with an IQ of 68 at the age of 32. He undergoes a life-changing scientific procedure that skyrockets his IQ to 180. As his intelligence increases, he realizes that the friendships he had with people he cared about were false, and with intelligence, comes the heavy burden of societal norms. Although…

A direct view of the war on Good versus Evil is seen when the young demon, Wormwood, attempts to corrupt a human with the help of his uncle (Stade and Karbiener). Lewis exposes the war by going behind enemy lines, and narrating the story in the point of view of a demon. By using a demon as the narrator, it allows Lewis to uncover the myriad of ways humans can be tempted. The demon Lewis chooses as the narrator is an elder demon, who has many experiences with being a Senior tempter. With this choice of narrator, Lewis can show the readers a glimpse into the constant temptations they face, even the temptations they do not realize they are facing. While Lewis’s Hell and devils are not meant to be doctrinally correct, but rather Lewis chose to focus on humans and their choices and temptations they must face (Daigle-Williamson).…

Millicent brushed back a strand of hair. It was stiff and sticky from the egg that had been broken on her head as she knelt blindfolded at the sorority altar a short while before. There had been a silence, a slight crunching sound, and then she had felt the cold, slimy egg-white flattening and spreading on her head and sliding down her neck. She had heard someone smothering a laugh. It was all part of the ceremony.…

In my opinion, Scipio made a mistake by riding the merry-go-round of the Merciful Sisters. He will be missing out on the joys of childhood. He won’t be treated like a little kid. He will be given the respect he yearned for. He could have just waited a couple of more years, until he actually is that old. He might be happier, but he missed out on many experiences. Scipio made a wrong decision, because he is missing out on his childhood, he never will see his family again, and has to hide his identity.…
