The 3 Holidays Halloween, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day Originated from an ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. Holidays like Halloween, All Saints Day and All Souls Day are all closely related in both date and importance dates back 2000 years ago (History of Halloween). All Saints’ Day is celebrated on November 1st and dedicated to the saints of the church. All Saints ‘Day originated back to the fourth century, when Greek Christians made a festival on the first Sunday after Pentecost in honor of Martyrs and Saints. First, All Saints’ Day is known as “All Hallows Tide, All Hallomas, or All Hallows’ Day”. Second, this holiday is celebrated primarily by Roman Catholic groups of population. Day of the Dead is typically celebrated with festivals, parades and group celebrations and people wear masks, decorate, and carry signs to honor the dead. Next, symbols used during the All Souls ‘Day includes a skull that symbolizes death and rebirth and during Day of the Dead celebrators decorate skulls.
