As we started our interview session in class and having introduced each other, I asked him to name one thing he was proud of, he suddenly paused. He then answered that he was proud of being a student and had been given the opportunity to better himself through attending college, something that his parents didn’t have available to at the time they were his age. For my interview, I chose to have a very close family member tell part of her life story, For the purpose of this interview, we will call her Karla. She came to the United States with her parents when she was a little girl. She grew up in the middle of two cultures, exposed to two different ways of life. She always manages to be in a great mood and I can always count on her opinion on many subjects, with the certainty she always tries to approach every subject with a non-bias opinion. She grew up knowing the good and bad about being a bilingual child, raised with parents that did not speak Spanish. She is always telling us stories on “when she was growing up.” She managed to put herself through college with no family financial assistance.…

A recent event in my life where I felt proud was getting enough money to help my parents pay for bills and succeed and pursue "the american dream". I started to work for HoneyBaked Ham part time since I was eligible to work. The paychecks felt great and giving them to my parents was felt better. As my sister and I get ready for college, the money got tight and I did gigs on the side. I did everything from landscaping to repairing phone screens. Felt stressful but, mind over matter right? Thats exactly what my parents thought when they moved overseas to the new world. I felt a huge sense of pleasure as I could see stress lift off their shoulders when I gave them the money This would help me in college because I know I can give myself the extra…

For my interview I received valuable information that has helped me to understand more about post high school. The information helped me to find out what the biggest lesson that my mom learned after high school, which was to not try to grow up too fast. She told this to me because when she was my age all she wanted to do was to grow up and live on her own, only to then found out that the real world isn’t as spectacular as she presumed. Also she regrets leaving college for different reasons, one being that she could’ve made more more money and second she could’ve had less financial stress.…
