Alexander the Great was perhaps one of the most revered military leaders in history. Throughout his reign he managed to control one of the largest empires of his time. He conquered the Persian Empire and spread the Greek language across his empire. His military campaigns were very impressive because he managed to conquer most of the known world in just twelve short years. He was not just a military leader, he also spread his religion and political views throughout his empire. Alexander III was born in 356 B.C. to King Phillip II and Queen Olympia in Macedonia.
