I think that Alexander the Great, was a villain when his dad was alive, but when his dad died he became a hero.…
Alexander was a great leader even though some people commonly think that he was a sword wielding tyrant. Alexander was a great leader because he respected the beliefs of other people, had a great respect for knowledge, and he was a superior strategist in battle. He was so great that he was almost able to conquer the whole known world.…
Alexander the great is a villain not, a hero. Alexander lied, cheated, frightened, and killed in his time of rule,if he did all of these things why is he called Alexander the Great? Alexander killed millions of innocent people he also made millions of people scared of him,“In 327 BCE, with the Persian Empire firmly under his control, Alexander turned his attention to India. He had some victories before reaching the Ganges river, which he intended to cross in order to conquer more of India”.…
Alexander the Great was a powerful and wise military leader. His knowledge of the battle field led him to many victories; yet many of his battles ended very bloody for both sides. However, he did this for the good of his people and empire. Alexander the Great is the “great” king and military leader that many people perceive him as because he is wise, merciful, and willing to learn about different cultures.…
“Alexander The Great Hero or Villain” By: Shelby Hammond-Helms I think that Alexander the Great is a hero because he had a lot of accomplishments and legacies that are important. Alexander the Great did do some bad things but most heroes do. I think that his accomplishments over ride his actions that were hurtful to other people. I think that his most important accomplishment is the Hellenistic culture. Alexander the Great founded the city Alexandria.…
Alexander the Great was, in many ways, an amazing ruler. He was not afraid to take a chance on someone or something that everyone else had given up on, and he was prepared to risk his safety to help his men. Alexander also proved to his men that he was strong and that he was prepared to die for his cause.…
To what extent did Alexander the Great’s inability of success/ failure play into his Indian campaign? There are two sources that are to be identified. The first source is a primary source where there are document based research on Alexander’s claim by Arrian and the second source is a secondary source of an article on Alexander the Great. The first source is a primary source which means that it is a direct evidence on the character and profile of Alexander. “As for the exact thoughts in Alexander’s mind, I am neither able nor concerned to guess them , but this I think I can state, that nothing common or mean would have been his intention; he would not have remained content with any of his conquests, not even if he had added the British IsLes…
In conclusion I believe Alexander the great should be remembered a hero for these three reasons. The first reason is he showed respect for his enemies, next he was a brilliant commander and last but not least he invented very evolved things for his…
Many people think Alexander the Great should be remembered as a hero while others think Alexander the Great should be remembered as a villain. He should be remembered as a hero because of his heroic actions. For example, Alexander the Great conquered Persia, Egypt, and parts of the Asia Minor. He also created one form of government for his empire. Alexander was one of the bravest emperors in the Ancient World.…
Alexander the Great is a villain because he murdered thousands and thousands of innocent people and he would conquer civilizations against their will.…
Alexander the “not-so-great” was a psychotic maniac with a huge ego. He was conceded and had absolutely no concern for others. For example, when Alexander’s army was struggling across the hot, dry desert of sand, he could’ve taken them around the desert, so they didn’t have to suffer. (doc.D) Also, every new place Alexander went to he founded a new city and named it after himself….. Alexandria!!! In total he named eleven cities after himself. Because he was spoiled and everyone treated him like he was royalty at a very young age, he came up with the idea that he was part god and told everyone to treat him that way. (B.E.) There were always consequences for when people tried to stand up against Alexander. One example is in the battle with Tyre, when they refused to surrender, so he wouldn’t let them be and ordered his army to destruct and destroy all of Tyre into little pieces.(Doc.C) Therefore, because of his lack of concern for others and huge ego, he was proven,…
At last, Alexander the Great was a standout amongst the most-known individuals in Greek history to have vanquished a ton of land. It helped him spread his way of life, however it restricted the choices of other urban communities' way of life. In this way, it was useful for Greece, awful for the Near East urban communities. On the off chance that Alexander didn't vanquish so much, significantly more things could have been distinctive and there could've perhaps been significantly more societies now. Alexander the Great was a progressive and he exclusively changed…
Alexander the Great was a hero because he did great things for many people. Alexander the Great built new cities where others had been destroyed (You Decide, pg 181). This statement shows how he tried to do good for society. Alexander wanted people to have homes and live a happy and healthy life. People liked Alexander and what he did. Making sure the lives of people were satisfied was a feeling that he felt was right. This shows how he did great things for many people. Another example of this is with his great leadership skills, he and his army won the war against the Persian Empire (Teacher Created Materials, pg 133). Because he was a good leader he defeated the Persian Empire and this helped the Macedonians. He defeated them and now the…
It all started with a horse that was brought to Macedonia presented to King Phillip II. This horse was considered wild and unable to be tamed. King Phillip showed no interest at all in this horse that he wanted it gone however Alexander a 13-year-old boy made a comment saying “What as excellent horse do they lose for want of address and boldness to manage him.” At first Phillip did not care of what Alexander has said but finally said to Alexander “Do you reproach those who are older than yourself, as if you were better able to manage him than they.” Later Alexander tells Phillip that if he can’t tame the horse then he will pay for the horse himself. Phillip accepts the challenge and allows alexander to give it a try. As Alexander approaches this horse he realizes something that no one else did. He noticed that the horse was afraid of its own shadow. Alexander turns the horse against the sun so that his shadow was behind. From their He was able to calm the horse and later jumped on the horse and rode away. Alexander names this horse Bucephalus…
