Alexander The Great: A Hero Or Villain?
The named Alexander the Great is recognized by many people across the world. Alexander the Great was a Macedonian king. Alexander the Great is known as one of history’s brilliant military leaders and most powerful rulers. However, he isn’t a gracious ruler we learned about. Alexander the Great was a warfare ruler that used his power to his advantage. Alexander the Great is a villain because he grew power hungry and influenced major cruel dictators in history.

Alexander became the king of Macedonia when he was 20 years old but, this is when his need for power began. Alexander became king after his father’s death. As a matter of fact, historians like to lean towards the idea that Alexander the Great had something to do with his father’s death. Either he killed his father or he had someone kill his father for him. Heroes don’t kill their own parents just to gain power. One reason Alexander was a hero was because he unified 4 major civilizations and because he spread the Greek culture. However, the only way Alexander unified the civilizations was through war. Its claimed that his intelligent war strategies helped unify mankind, if anything he killed most of mankind to unify them. Heroes don’t kill people because they want to. Alexander was great because he conquered a country in the years 333BC, 332BC, 331BC, 331BC, 330BC, 327BC, 324BC and 323BC. This demonstrates that he was great because he used tactics that would defeat enemies. An example of a tactic he used is phalanx. Phalanx means “a body of Macedonian infantry drawn up in close order with shields touching and long spears overlapping”. This was good because he could easily besiege cities which helped him take over the Mediterranean. My own research shows that Alexander the Great took power over the countries Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, northern Afghanistan and Iraq. This shows how Alexander the Great was so prodigious.…
