Alexander Name Vs Name
First day of school roll call, “Alexander?” “Here, I go by Alex.” The longest and hardest day because I am repeating myself for every class. When I asked my parents why they named me Alexander, it took them sometime to come up with the answer of, “We just liked the name.” I went on to research the difference between the names of Alexander and Alex, even though they are much the same, the names have different meanings. Alexander, to me, does not fit me as well as Alex for multiple reasons. As simple as the name Alex is, Alex also has a simple definition. According to babynames.com, Alex simply means “defender”. This could not fit me better. I have played soccer since I was three. I have also played defence, since I was three. When I was little, and even now, I still get picked because I play defence. Even in roller hockey, which I played for only one season, I ended up being a defender. In any sport I play, I have the mindset to defend the goal that the opposing team is going for. When I get the chance to go forward, I still have that defend first mindset. Also, I am not a pushover. I …show more content…
One athlete is Alex Sandro, a defender for Juventus. This is just one of many soccer players that share the name Alex. Also, this proves once again that Alex is a defenders name. Yes, it could be a coincidence, but I when I searched “defenders names who is Alex” I found lists of soccer players that share my name. I find it very interesting and astonishing that this many players not only share my name and passion, but also my position. Sharing the name with professional athletes is an honor. Defender is not only my position, but it also speaks about my personality, that I will stick up and defend others. Alexander is a part of me, but not as much as Alex because of the different definitions of Alex, it has more qualities that fit me in contrast of Alexander. All in all, Alex fits me better than

The 19th century was marked by the uprising of the middle class and the spread of revolutionary ideas caused by the French Revolution, which ultimately led to the outbreak of war all across Europe. Once France was defeated, the Vienna Congress met to discuss the future and fate of Europe. The purpose of the Vienna Congress was to establish an international framework for continental cooperation and the maintenance of the balance of power. This aided the emperors of Russia, Austria as well as Prussia to focus on internal state issues instead of warfare among European countries. Internally, these emperors were concerned with the spread of revolutionary ideas, which originated in France and questioned the traditional authority. This research paper…

I really admire Enrique for all he did for Carlos. Although he wanted to leave Carlos many times, Enrique stayed by his side, keeping him from danger. I feel like I am most like Enrique for the fact of how he helps Carlos. I am always helping people, whether I get along with them, or even like them, I’m always there to help. I also relate to Enrique because of his determination. He is just like Carlos, determined to find his mother (Carlos’.) Together they go through many struggles, sleeping on park benches, finding cheap easy jobs, barley making enough money to eat and sleep. But they will do whatever it takes to find her. I am determined like them when it comes to basketball. I am also willing to work as hard as I have to win, start, score, and play as much as I can. Enrique saved Carlos from danger numerous times.…

When I was handed this immense responsibility, I felt honored to choose the name this new person would have for the rest of their life. Even though, my parents had a few picked out, and I had to choose from those names, I had still considered it an honor. After having to make the tough decision, I had decided the perfect name for my brother would be Benjamin Adrian. At first, when I chose the name “Benjamin”, I wasn’t too sure about the name, but once he was born, I was sure that the name had been just right for him. When my parents had allowed me to pick out the name, I knew that Benji and I had created a bond that I knew would never be…

My name is ----, but people give me so many bloody nicknames, sometimes, I feel like I’m losing my identity. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with English. Sometimes I love the concept of it. These words, they all have a meaning, whether it’s simple or complex. They have this way of staying in your head, creating thoughts, images, and a whole other world. At the same time, I hate the subject basically because of the curriculum. So much of the content is confusing, most of it is useless, and all of it is boring unless it’s been taught correctly. You have no idea how many plebs complain about English. Fight Club is my favourite movie as of right now, and Perception is my favourite show. I’m bipolar-to an extent, and I’m impatient. I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up, but I know damn well it won’t be in politics. I don’t have a good relationship with my parents, and that’s why you’ll probably see me with my head down. I get into bed early, at nine, and I begin sleeping at one. I don’t know what I do for four hours, my memory usually wipes when I wake up. Currently, I’m typing this at midnight, on my iPod. My plan is send it to my email, where I can get it at school, then print it out. My favourite song is Easy Now by Sir Sly because no one knows him and the song is fabulous. I revolve around sports, watched football and ice hockey ever since I was young, started playing ice hockey last year, I was the school’s field hockey manager, and I’m trying out for lacrosse this spring. Roosterteeth is a gaming company that resides in Austin, Texas. I adore them more than anything else because they’ve come such a long way from buying domains online for fun, to holding gaming conventions, and producing their own podcasts, shows, and videos. I have very strong views about everything, and if I am completely silent in class, it means I don’t want to annoy everyone with a rant.…
