In the book, Message to Garcia, Rowan was asked to deliver a message to General Garcia, whom was in Cuba at the time. However, General Garcia was in a place that very few people knew about which made it impossible to send him the message through a telegraph. The only way they could reach him was by somebody directly brining the message to General Garcia, which Rowan was tasked to do. When Rowan was told about this mission he was not given any more information other than what to do. He used his own means and carried out the mission, and in the face of many obstacles he did not abandon his assignment.…

Rowan is responsible, accommodating, collaborative, and intelligent to act all by one’s self, Rowan is great at doing what he is assigned and does not have to be continually reminded. Rowan is a man who concentrates on completion. If Rowan is appointed a task to do, he contemplates himself to where he can do an outstanding job. He has remarkable assurance in himself and what he does. Rowan is a gentleman that you can have faith in to carry out any job from the easiest to the most difficult and extensive. A Message to Garcia is serves as an inspiration for many reasons. Not only is it a prime example of the "no questions asked" attitude, it also makes you question yourself as a leader. Many will say that this essay is about the subordinate, but to me it envelopes the relationship of the team as a whole to accomplish the mission. Though there are many different leadership styles and principles but in my opinion the most prominent in this essay are communication, trust, and obedience.…

Written by, Elbert Hubbard, is a story written about trying to find the ideal messenger, or employee. And in many cases is hard to find even when it comes to a simple task, in this case, delivering a message. Hubbard goes on to explain that some individuals, when tasked with such a job will make it rather difficult. They will either ask questions, “who is Garcia? Where is he? Why can’t you do it? Have someone else do it.” Hubbard points out the most common flaws or unwanted qualities of employers when all he, or any employer are looking for is someone who is hard working and can be trusted with an important task regardless of what it is. And that is the type of worker that no employer can afford to lose.…

Software development can be seen as a modeling activity. The first step in the software development is the modeling of the problem we are trying to solve and building the conceptual model of the problem domain. The next step is to convert this model to the solution domain model which represents the program that will actually solve our problem. In this perspective, programming languages define the solution domain model that can be converted to the running program by means of compilers. In summary, the software development process takes place in two different domains and at least two kinds of modeling techniques are required. Object Orientation narrows the gap between problem and solution models as it enables us to represent solution domain in terms of problem domain elements. The problem domain elements include real world objects that interact to accomplish a given task. For example, a library system deals with librarians, borrowers, books, and their interactions. While we model the problem, we model each problem domain element with their states and behaviors and identify their interactions. For example, any system to automate the operations in a library should deal with the objects in the problem domain. We can identify two merits of the object oriented approach in software development process: they can be used for any problem we face with and solution domain model actually resembles the problem domain model. Since the real world can be seen as a bunch of objects collaborating to achieve a task, shaping the solution domain in terms of objects and their interactions potentially gives us an opportunity to solve any problem using object oriented approach. Moreover, as solution domain model reflects the problem domain model, while you read your program, you are actually navigating through the problem domain. This, obviously, will contribute to reduction of complexity, ease of development and ease of maintenance of the programs.…
