Hyderabad. In the last 8 years, she has worked in teams both at the Center and Circle, driving voice and data revenues.
Tell us about the journey of Wynk Music, the
Airtel music app that you launched.
We started work on Wynk Music in Dec’13 and launched the app after 9 months in Sep’14.
Wynk was a journey of many firsts for Airtel – it’s the first carrier-agnostic product we’ve launched. It’s the first time we’ve entered a space as the underdogs with bigger incumbent players; what makes Wynk truly special is that we bootstrapped the project from start to finish. Wynk runs as a small start-up in a big organization with a mantra to change the way
India streams music. Today, the mad effort of last 1 year seems all worth it with Wynk galloping to 5mn app downloads and winning a few awards along the way. This, however, is just the beginning. Users of Wynk can expect many more features and enhancements in the times to come.
