Airline Pilot Persuasive Essay

If we don’t arm all of our airline pilots soon, and if hijackers come again, people will die. We don’t want to imagine anything like 911 terrorist attack happening again, or imagining the pilots in the cockpit scared and defenseless as they were trying to defend the plane, themselves, and the people on board. The pilots of the 4 planes were defenseless when the hijackers pulled out knives and took over the plane and hit the twin towers and The Pentagon killing thousands of people. If we put in a gun, in the cockpit with the pilots for defense then if anything happens hijacker wise then we will be ready and it can be handled. We should just put a weapon in the cockpit or the pilots should be in possession of it. The amount of protection we could have because of this is very high. People need to feel safe when they aboard an airplane to go see family members, or to just take a break and go on vacation. The people aboard the 4 planes that were used for destruction killed so many innocent people who were probably just going on vacation with family or just traveling. It’s sad that it took a very devastating event to take place for us to even think about putting weapons in the cockpits. Arming pilots may not be able to stop terrorists coming into the US and just start bombing people, buildings, and land, but it will stop them from coming into a plane and doing anything like 911 ever again. I think we should let pilots have a weapon on every plane in the US for defense. Arming Pilots is a good idea, and we should go through with it.
