There has been much written about the benefits of an agile development environment and it is recognized that agile teams deliver higher quality results more consistently and faster that those following traditional methodologies. The role of the PMO in this agile world has been very much absent in many conversations. This lack of inclusion is primarily because of the historic definitions and understanding of the different roles of a standard project. Development teams often see the PMO as a bureaucratic team that create barriers instead of providing support despite the fact that the PMO is critical in playing an important role in the managing of expectations for a broader audience. All of the members, the development team, project managers and the PMO share a common goal. They want to deliver projects and application that are accepted as successes but often times their methods seem to interfere with each other. As mentioned…

If you hold various credentials, you may find that other credentials satisfy requirements for obtaining other credentials. In doing so, multiple certifications can speed up the process of meeting your career goals. For instance, if your goal is to hold your PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) credential, holding a PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) credential or a Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential will eliminate the need to have 2,000 hours of project work experience under your belt. You would only have to focus on meeting the requirements for your project management class and the 1,500 hours working on agile project…
Agile software development is a conceptual framework for undertaking software engineering projects. There are a number of agile software development methodologies such as Crystal Methods, Dynamic Systems Development Model (DSDM), Extreme Programming (XP), Rapid Product Development, Lean Development, and Scrum. It should be noted the Agile PM is not one set method, but a family of methods designed to respond to the challenges of unpredictable projects. While each of these methods has unique elements and applications, most are based on the following Agile principles:…

Agile Business Suite is integrated into the Microsoft Visual Studio environment and leverages the features of Visual Studio to provide a highly productive development environment. It is based on high-level specification of the business model, capability to deploy complete applications, and the flexibility to easily adapt the model. It helps in evolving business needs and changes in user environments. Agile Business Suite allows you to build business solutions that include both Agile Business Suite and other .NET components thus optimizing resource usage. An Agile Business Suite solution may, for example, comprise Agile Business Suite components, C#, Visual Basic .NET, and C++ components, or any type of project that Visual Studio is capable of generating. Through the use of standards such as SOAP, UDDI and WSDL, these solutions may work with other clients and services generated by other IDEs such as Web Sphere Application Developer (WSAD) or Visual Studio. Agile Business Suite is a "plug-in" to Visual Studio and is a project in Visual Studio.…
